Just finished my son's Birthday gift!

He likes dino a lot so I finally made a dino for him. I am not good at amigurumi so I just follow Heidibears pattern, using Aftican flowers to sew them together.

I love that! Your son is a lucky boy, happy birthday to him. How many hexagons are in that? My daughter just started studying palaeontology and I'd love to make her one. Really not a problem if he’s old enough but if he’s little little then obv it’s a choking hazard
He turned 3 so it shouldn't be a problem but you know them well, once they discover some stuffing coming out from one of the holes they might just use their tiny fingers to get all the stuffing out! Man I am anxious for the dino's future already!!!

Hi! I just made the feet and now I’m making the octagon belly and it keeps folding (doesn’t lay flat). I’m using weight 4 yarn and 3.5 mm hook. Did you experience this?? What yarn and hook did you use? Thanks!
Henlo I think once you sew the pieces together it should be flatter. I used premier dk yarn #3 with 3mm hook, I should probably use 2.25mm hook to make the holes smaller.

Plod! I'm about to start this. I've never made anything like it in my life, how hard would say it was?
For the pieces it wasn't hard, I had a hard time sewing the face together, and to attach the eyes in the correct spots since I crocheted Plod's eyes instead of simply using safety eyes.
I had difficulty in choosing what colors I had to use as well, I used dark green but it didn't match with the whole thing when I sew it on so I had to remake some of the pieces
