Ross Perot
The IDW is a subreddit dedicated to discussing politics, history, and social issues
I have been having an argument about this with a friend of mine. Essentially, he says that people are just going to bite the bullet and vote for one of the two major party candidates, even though they probably would prefer RFK, but since he is not going to win, they won't vote for him. I am arguing that it is likely that he will be a similar figure to Ross Perot, clearly not going to win the election, but he will take some of the voter base away from both candidates, in the end benefiting one over the other (In this case I think Trump.) Are there distinctions between these two cases that I am missing that might result in a different outcome?

In case you don't know who he is, he is basically the son of the famous businessman and third-party candidate Ross Perot. He is currently a real estate mogul, and is reportedly very popular in Texas, which could be a plus to RFK Jr's campaign. Not to mention, it could really bolster his outsider image, and perhaps the name recognition will get his campaign's message out there more! The only downside is that Ross Perot Jr have to be good at public speaking and debating as his father, otherwise, we might end up with another James Stockdale.
