I was recently listening to a lecture from the University of Chicago on the history of the white movement. In the video a professor claims that the time after Oklahoma City is muddled, information is more scarce. From 1995 to 2009, when you start seeing more in depth scholarship re-emerge thanks to the Birtherism movement.

Listening to it I thought "oh that's around when Alex Jones got started." Leading me to a greater question. Do you think the impact of Alex Jones on the american right is comparable to Joseph McCarthy? Can you see historians naming an era of conspiracy theory after Jones?

I bring this up because the hope the video has in terms of research is that a more concrete history will be written about the 1995-2009 era and eventually the most influential people (who obviously do not want to be in a history textbook for their bigotry) will be curriculum?
