This will likely come off a certain way and offend people I don’t really care if it does, but I hope you guys can understand where I am coming from. I am a white American and have been traveling all over South Asia recently and noticed some things. People in India and surrounding countries are very down to earth and cool. Despite the constant memes in the West about food hygiene in India I really like Indian food and have seen worse hygiene elsewhere. However comparing Indian people in India and surrounding countries to Indians in America I notice a stark difference. The majority of Indians in US/Canada on the other hand are extremely arrogant, condescending, and continuously talk about how India is “so much better than America”. The worst part is they all make the same erroneous statements regarding America and the only one that is accurate is how fat people are in America. Just curious as to why there is such a difference in culture and behavior between Indians in India and those abroad and wanted some insight. Thanks

Old content | Reposts

Threads linking to the same news from different sources submitted within a certain time window (depending on the popularity of the news) will be treated as reposts and would be deleted. Furthermore, reactions to news stories should go as comments in the thread discussing that story, not in a new thread.

We follow the same rules as r/todayilearned for TIL posts.
OC scenic images are welcome and should have device, resolution and location in the title.
Non-OC scenic images belong in the weekly thread for scenic images.
Only OC memes are welcome, no recycled content from other social media platforms / subreddits.
Political Memes are not allowed.

Posts should have reputed source

We expect all submissions to be from reputed and verified sources.
Established media websites including organisational (non-personal) Twitter accounts which are marked Verified are considered as reputed sources.
Unverified twitter can be allowed with moderator approval in cases where reputed sources are unavailable. Approvals will be on case-to-case basis and prior approval is to be taken through modmail.

Porn/Gore/NSFW | Self Promotion

We do not tolerate sexual or pornographic content. NSFW/NSFL should be marked as such.
We do not allow Self Promotion. Please refer to Reddit Guidelines on Self-Promotion. We may tolerate occasional self-promotion with a 1:10 ratio viz. every ten comments you may make 1 self promotion.

Generative AI Content is not allowed

We do not allow AI-generated content. This includes content from Chatgpt, Copilot, Gemini, Midjourney, Dall-e, among other services.
