Child actors have been abused on sets since the beginning of Hollywood
r/QuietOnSetDocumentary

Child actors have been abused on sets since the beginning of Hollywood

It's been over a month since the documentary premiered and Dan Schneider has now filed a lawsuit against the filmmakers for defamation. Despite the blowback from him, the documentary still unveiled a major problem in Hollywood and raised questions about how children are protected on TV and movie sets. Abuse fo children on sets has been going on since the time of Shirley Temple and Jackie Coogan. What is being done to protect kids and what can be done to make change at this point?

I’m searching for Meghan/Rachel Zane friendly Suits community online

Hello! Like all of you, I’m a Meghan and Harry fan too. I’m pretty new to this subreddit and I’m very happy to find it because it’s a safe place for us H&M fans. I’ve been a Diana fan since I was a kid but haven’t really followed the Royal family much post Diana. I was more like a casual watcher of William and Harry. I’m trying to be polite and no hate on Kate, but even if I loved some of her fashions I never really fangirled over her like I do with Meghan who is my girl crush.

And now I have an even bigger girl crush on Meghan because I discovered her Suits character Rachel Zane. I recently started watching Suits on Netflix and am really hooked on the show and now totally addicted to Mike and Rachel. I ship them so hard.

Anyways to get to the point of my post; I was googling for fan communities of the show to look for fellow Machel (Mike/Rachel) fans, but then all I get are these hateful posts from the Suits reddit. It’s truly disgusting how these people keep hating on Rachel Zane. And the negativity they pile on her is very much the same things the haters pile on Meghan.

So my question is, do you guys know any Meghan/Rachel Zane friendly places where fans can chat about Suits and Machel without people being so hateful on the couple and especially on Rachel Zane?

So far the only places I’ve been enjoying Machel are YouTube music shipper vids from 10 yrs ago.

Sorry it’s like a separate topic than H&M, but I don’t know where else to ask. Thank you!

Do you know what I find most amazing about this show?

And the thing that actually baffles and amazes me... Is how they did. How effortlessly the producers assembled a cast of people whom seem to genuinely share such great camraderie and all have just gobs of charisma and presence.

It's amazing, actually, assuming everyone is who they seem and not from central casting.

OK, sure, we know JC and he's the reason we watch this. But pairing Kaleb, the perfect foil in nearly every way is just magic. As I work through S3, I feel like he's finally doing more scripted stuff than earlier, but their natural interplay is just so perfect.

Charlie.. interfaces with both and is just, agian, a natural third. The straight man, the James May type to their foibles.

JC's girlfriend has really turned into feeling more like a member of 'the gang' rather than a trophy girlfriend, and its lovely to watch her interact with everyone. Gerald, a man who's portrayed as almost incomprehensible and still manages to own every moment of screen time he's given and just fit in with the others so effortlessly.

It's amazing. I don't know who found and brought these people together, but whatever member of the production team that is does not get enough credit for their accomplishment.

Britain's business barons setting economic policy

Hi

This has been frustrating me so I'm wondering if hive mind can help. I learned from an AC doc that in probably the turn-of-century type period, perhaps late-1800s, a lot of the British government's economic policy followed the advice of a set of the biggest businesspeople in the country.

The likes of Sainsbury, Cadbury, Rowntree, Lever, etc.

Can anyone point me to the episode/series that describes this?

Cheers!
