In these challenging times, where there is great political confusion, where old practices which lead to the same port are renewed, as is the case with the variety of electioneering offers that ensure they are not going to deviate from the path of a “responsible and mature” politics: while global poverty, precariousness, unemployment and the desperate migration of millions of people increase; while despair grows and authoritarian and neoliberal proposals are gaining ground, where technical coups take place with a view to the most rancid bourgeoisie taking up the state's helm again. Nothing should escape its control and, within this framework, the imperialist policies of the USA and European Union place their chips and interests on the global game board. Thereby increasing, with variants in every region of the planet, the so-called surplus population, stripped of the essentials to live; while the population that suffers various levels of precariousness grows in size and severity. A world that is increasingly designed for less and less people, an increasingly small population that is fully “integrated” into the global capitalist system, where precariousness, segregation, segmentation and survival are constantly increasing. And at the other extreme, wealth is increasingly concentrated in the hands of fewer people.

Estos tiempos que corren, donde la confusión política es grande, donde se renuevan viejas prácticas que conducen al mismo puerto, como en el caso de las variadas ofertas electoralistas que aseguran que no van a desviarse del camino de una política "madura y responsable”; mientras aumenta a nivel mundial la pobreza, la precarización, el desempleo, las migraciones de millones de seres humanos en forma desesperada, mientras crece el desconsuelo y ganan terreno propuestas autoritarias y neoliberales, donde se producen golpes de Estado de carácter técnico en aras de retomar el timonel del Estado por parte de la burguesía más rancia. Nada debe escapar a su control y en ese marco, la política imperialista de EEUU y la Unión Europea disponen en el tablero mundial sus fichas y sus intereses. Aumenta de ese modo, con variantes en cada región del planeta, la población llamada sobrante, desplazada de todo lo elemental para vivir y también crece en volumen y problemática la población que sufre varios niveles de precarización. Un mundo diseñado cada vez para menos gente, cada vez menos población "integrada" plenamente al sistema mundo capitalista, donde aumenta de la precariedad, la segmentación, segregación y la sobrevivencia. Y en el otro extremo, la consiguiente concentración de la riqueza cada vez en menos manos.

Απορρίπτω την ηθικολογική μέθοδο που έχει ως αφετηρία μια δέσμη αξιών (πού μια καλή κοινωνία πρέπει να διαθέτει), ώστε να φτιάξει ένα σχέδιο του πώς θα είναι μια καλή κοινωνία. Αυτή ήταν η κλασική μέθοδος των «ουτοπιστών», όπως επίσης και των συγγραφέων της Parecon (participatory economics) στις μέρες μας. Απορρίπτω επίσης τη μηχανική σύλληψη ενός καπιταλισμού που αλέθει μια νέα κοινωνία, στην οποία δεν υπάρχει χώρος για οραματική συνείδηση. Αυτή η άποψη ήταν κυρίαρχη στον Μαρξισμό (και σε κάποιο βαθμό στη δουλειά του μεγάλου αναρχικού Κροπότκιν). Η απόκλιση ανάμεσα σ’ αυτές τις δύο απόψεις, βασίζεται σε μια θετικιστική απόκλιση ανάμεσα στις αξίες και τα γεγονότα. Δεν δέχομαι αυτή τη διχοτόμηση. Ο αγώνας για τον ελευθεριακό σοσιαλισμό, ο αγώνας για τον Αναρχισμό, βασίζεται ταυτόχρονα σε ηθικές και κοινωνικές δυνάμεις. read full story / add a comment

Πρέπει να γίνει μια τέτοια επανάσταση αν πιστεύουμε στ’ αλήθεια πως όλοι οι άνθρωποι έχουν την ίδια αξία, πως όλοι θα έπρεπε να έχουν ίση ελευθερία και πως ένας τέτοιος κόσμος θα ήταν ο ιδανικός για να ζήσει κάποιος. Οι ελίτ θα αντιδράσουν, οπότε πρέπει να παλέψουμε ενάντια στις δράσεις τους και για την ανάπτυξη των δικών μας. Το κοινωνικό περιβάλλον και η κοινή γνώμη, που πάντα εκφράζει την υλική και πολιτική γνώμη του περιβάλλοντος αυτού, βαραίνει πολύ πάνω στην ελεύθερη σκέψη και χρειάζεται πολύ μεγάλη δύναμη σκέψης, κι ακόμη περισσότερο αντικοινωνικού ενδιαφέροντος και πάθους, για να αντισταθεί κανείς σ’αυτή την βαριά καταπίεση. The YPG/YPJ have also held the dictatorship at bay (and they have brought a relative stability to this region of Syria). But what deserves our respect is not simply their military prowess, but rather the type of society which they seek to create in liberated areas. They hold socialist tendencies, but what sets them apart is their desire to organize their world according to directly democratic means; something like a secular, decentralized, Town Meeting system where all the people have an actual voice and an unabstracted vote concerning the issues that face them as a people and as a community. Here they take political influence from the anarchist Vermont sociologist Murray Bookchin. Their vision, similar to that espoused by the EZLN & the Zapatistas (Chiapas, Mexico), is as far reaching as that which was dreamed of on CNT/FAI barricades in Spain from 1936-1939. Their fight has parallels to Mahkno and his brigades in the Ukraine in 1919. They do not fight for an ethic Kurdish state, but rather for a new social formation whereby the individual and the community collectively control the world in which they live. Their dreams, perhaps, are not dissimilar those who manned the walls of the Paris in 1871. And to this very point in time, remarkably, they have been winning. read full story / add a comment

Trade union renewal is essential but should not be reduced to democratising structures or new recruitment methods. Renewal should centre on a bottom-up movement based on rank-and-file reform movements, and the direct action of workers as a precondition for radical redistribution of power and wealth to workers, community assemblies and councils in a self-managed, egalitarian order based on participatory planning and distribution by need. It must be rooted in an anarcho-syndicalist understanding that unions can profoundly change society. read full story / add a comment
