Two cars were set alight and driven through the fence of a double-storey house in Essendon overnight, in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The flaming cars, an SUV and a ute, were driven into the multimillion-dollar McCracken Street property at 2am on Tuesday. The house was a crime scene on Tuesday morning, with a small police presence.
A 47-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were home at the time but not injured. The house sustained minor damages to the front window.
Police were interviewing the occupants at 8.30am on Tuesday.
A spokesperson said the exact circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
“It is believed the incident was a targeted attack,” Victoria Police said.
The house last sold for $2.77 million in September 2020, records show.
