2024 Kia Sorento due in Australia next month, price to be confirmed
Kia’s facelifted Sorento is one step closer to Australian showrooms, with deliveries of the updated SUV due in December.
The 2024 Kia Sorento has received a facelift to bring the popular SUV in line with the design of its electric siblings, with the first Australian deliveries due to begin in December 2023.
First seen in leaked images back in July – and making its US debut at the Los Angeles motor show this week – the 2024 Sorento adopts a fascia akin to the electric Kia EV9 SUV and the upcoming facelifted Picanto city car.
A spokesperson for Kia Australia told Drive dealer deliveries are due next month, with local pricing and specifications due shortly before the updated Sorento goes on sale.
In addition to the new T-shaped LED daytime-running lights and revised grille up front, the Kia Sorento’s rear-end has also been tweaked with connected dual light clusters and a tidier lower bumper valence.
Inside, the current Sorento’s 10.25-inch infotainment screen has been upgraded to a 12.3-inch display – running Hyundai and Kia's latest 'ccNC' software – which sits beside a 12.3-inch digital dash, housed within a continuous pane for an ultra-wide appearance.
All three rows of seats in the Sorento are equipped with USB-C charging ports, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now available alongside the existing wired connections.
In the US, the Kia Sorento continues to be offered with a choice of 3.5-litre non-turbo petrol V6, 2.5-litre non-turbo petrol four-cylinder, and 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol-hybrid four-cylinder engines.
Government documents show will retain 3.5-litre petrol V6, 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder and 1.6-litre hybrid options, with the plug-in hybrid expected to be dropped.
Drive will report on official pricing and specifications for the 2024 Kia Sorento when information becomes available in December.
