How Trump’s ?imperial presidency’ will reshape the world
If Donald Trump wins in November, expect even greater strain on American institutions. But he’s unlikely to be an “imperial president” abroad.
James CurranInternational editorEarlier this month, Time Magazine concluded from an extensive interview with Donald Trump that if elected he would usher in “an imperial presidency that would reshape America and its role in the world”.
It followed Trump’s stated intention to use the Justice Department as an instrument for personal vengeance, pursuing the Biden family. He also promised to initiate the mass deportation of millions of undocumented migrants, deploying the US military and national guard to do so.
