Man dies after being stabbed in Brisbane park

By Cameron Atfield

A homicide probe has been launched after a 22-year-old was stabbed in a southside park overnight.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were called to Mortimer Road, Acacia Ridge, shortly after midnight.

“A male in his twenties, treated on the scene with a chest wound, was in a critical condition after an alleged stabbing on Mortimer Road at 12.02am,” the spokesperson said.

“The patient sadly died on scene.”

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said detectives were appealing for people to come forward with any information, including CCTV footage from the area.

“Initial investigations indicate the man was known to the offender, who fled the scene prior to police arrival,” the police spokesperson said.
