I hope this post is allowed. I'm currently bingeing Next in Fashion while sewing and I'm so so so sick of corsets. I know there was a corset post earlier this week. But this is specific for NiF. A contestant literally said that they're doing corsets down pant legs. A judge appreciated a "corset" on a dress wherein there was no corset, it was just fitted. In the introduction of the show in episode 1, Tan talks about how they're not interested in what is current in fashion, but what's NEXT in fashion. Yet episode after episode is full of corsets, which is, right now, current in fashion and everyone is so obsessed with, they're putting them on pant legs!!! This shit is hilarious!!! I suppose corset pant legs are the future of fashion.
Omg, you guys. This is totes ridic.
Also, I can't get over the judges being like "great construction" while I'm sure they didn't finish any seams because of time pressure. While I'm here in my home perfecting my inside seam finishes because that shit brings me joy and satisfaction in sewing.
I think I'm officially Old, because this fashion looks like rubbish. Sigh. I'm going back to my handful of tried and true patterns till the end of time.
EDIT: just a couple of typos

Unofficial Netflix discussion, and all things Netflix related! (Mods are not Netflix employees, but employees occasionally post here).
I’m a straight guy who’s into computers, so I guess it’s sort of far from my stereotype? If we’re still doing that? my girlfriend introduced me to the show and honestly... it’s great. There’s minimal drama, the creativity behind the pieces is amazing, the support of the designers is great, and their individual missions are really inspiring.
Honestly, I never thought I’d be into fashion but I’ve been googling labels and designers for a portion of my day.
Great show.

Not sure if anyone watched the second season on Netflix (it was okay imo) but you gotta commend how quickly the contestants were able to draft their patterns and see up some very interesting designs in such a short amount of time.
Anyone here feel like they’d have what it takes to compete on that level?

Hi all, Netflix has debuted a new show called "Next in Fashion," starring Queer Eye's Tan France and designer Alexa Chung. It's similar to Project Runway in that designers race against the clock in a variety of challenges with the ultimate prize of $250,000. I've created a subreddit if anyone wants to discuss it: . Hope to see you there!
Edit to add: the whole season was added to Netflix today and can be seen .

Just finished watching Next in Fashion and I've got to say I found the majority of designers to be far more talented/capable than this current PR season's batch of designers. Did anyone else find this to be the case?
Any discussion comparing, contrasting or giving opinions on the two shows welcomed!

What a twist!
I was watching YouTube and a promo showed up for season 2 of Next in Fashion. I had to ask myself, was there a season 2? Then I remembered that no, it had been canceled. Well, consider it un-canceled!
I watch every season of PR, Making the Cut, and now Next in Fashion. I was bummed when the first season ended in cancellation since there was much about it that I preferred over the other two series. Excited to see what happens with season 2!
Here's the trailer for s2:
