Anita Hegerland (born 3 March 1961 in Sandefjord), is a Norwegian singer famous for her childhood career in Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and subsequent vocal contributions to Mike Oldfield's work, among others.
Her career is both historic and unique. She is one of the best-selling solo singers in Norway, with sales of more than 7 million albums and singles. Her songs have been released on nearly 23 million albums worldwide.
Hegerland had the biggest hit in Germany of any Norwegian artist ever, in front of Lene Nystrøm (AQUA), Marit Larsen, Madcon and A-ha.
For more than 20 years she had the record in Sweden as the singer who was the longest on Svensktoppen, the main music charts.
Hegerland was discovered at age 8 by Fredrik Friis during a Christmas show where she was performing. Hegerland's musical career took off in 1970 with "Mitt sommarlov" (transl: My Summer Vacation) in the Scandinavian countries. It spent 22 weeks on Norway's singles chart, with two weeks at #1, and the song was also a #1 hit in Sweden. In 1971 she released a single with German artist Roy Black; "Schön ist es auf der Welt zu sein (It's beautiful to be in the world)" in German-speaking countries. The song was recorded both with German and Norwegian vocals. It sold over 2 million copies (of which more than 1.3 million came from Germany), and spent 30 weeks on the singles chart (top peak #3) in Norway.
"Verdammt, ich lieb' dich" is a 1990 song by German singer-songwriter Matthias Reim, from his debut album Reim. The song was Reim's first single, and remains his biggest hit, reaching the number-one spot in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands. In Germany it spent 16 consecutive weeks at the top of the charts, equalling the record set by Boney M.'s "Rivers of Babylon". The song's title means "Damn, I love you".
In 1991, the German punkband Planlos recorded a version of the song. Another cover version with English lyrics was made in 2000 by Baracuda, with the title "Damn! (Remember the Time)". In 2002, the Polish version of the song was called "Kochaj mnie Kochaj" recorded by two-fold Polish representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest namely the group Ich Troje. In 2005, bilingual German singer Dennie Christian released a Dutch version called "Dit is liefde" (This is love). The song was covered by Sha in 2007. In April 2006, Reim declared bankruptcy due to a debt of 12.5 million euros. To help cover his costs, in August 2007 he parodied his own song with "Verdammt ich hab‘ nix, ich miet‘ bei Sixt", which reached 66 on the German charts. Reim himself has sung this sung in various languages so far: English ("I think I love you"), Spanish ("Tal vez te quiero" and "te quiero a veces"), Italian ("Per che ti amo"), French ("et puis je t'aime").

Tonight, tonight, the fading twilight. There's a hollow deep in the woods Where you know you're crazy To go, to go, not even meant to know There are... Pictures in the dark, I see all around. Voices calling underground And I'm watching the stars since the World was found. One, two, three. Pictures in the dark, I see Morpheus comes to me. Pictures in the dark, I see. Aurora sets you free. And in the deepest dark You come to a maze in. The night, the night, the fading twilight. And you shiver the glistening path Where you know you're crazy To go, to go, not even mean...
I know you'll never stay the same
In time most of us lose it
But I'm hoping just the same
You'll shine and learn how to use it
Speak to me like the very first speak
You are magnificent when you're innocent
Laugh to me like the very first laugh
You are from heaven sent when you're innocent
My hands hold you and you adore
Blue eyes turn my direction
Suprise in everything and your
Body moves in perfection
Smile to me like the very first smile
You are magnificen when you're innocent
Walk to me like the very first walk
You are from heaven sent when you're innocent
Sunrise here comes another day
Cow jumps over the moon now
Sometime you will look back and say
Today I'll sing my own tune
Sing to me like the very first sing
You are magnificent when you're innocent
Laugh to me like the very first laugh
You are omipotent when you're innocent
Speak to me like the very first speak
You are magnificent when you're innocent
Smile to me like the very first smile
You are from heaven sent when you're innocent
Sing to me like the very first sing
