TIL June Foray voiced so many familiar characters in her career- from Tweety/Sylvester's Granny, Cindy Lou Who, Rocky the Squirrel, even Chatty Cathy the first talking doll- that Chuck Jones said, "June Foray is not the female Mel Blanc. Mel Blanc was the male June Foray."

TIL Jim Henson is on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as both himself and "Kermit The Frog". Only three other people have received this honor. Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse; Mel Blanc and Bugs Bunny; and Mike Myers and Shrek.

Mel Blanc was born on this day 115 years ago. He did the voices of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, the Tasmanian Devil, Barney Rubble, and Captain Caveman... Among others. Here's a clip from an interview he did on Letterman in 1981.

TIL that Mel Blanc, the voice of Barney Rubble, suffered a car crash during production of Season 1 and so the actors would crowd around his hospital bed to record lines while the producers used a built in speaker to direct. Around forty episodes were recorded in such a manner.

TIL Mel Blanc, the voice of Bugs Bunny and hundreds more, started smoking at the age of 9, changed his last name from Blank to Blanc, survived a car accident resulting in a two week coma, recorded The Flintstones in a full body cast, and died only a year after recording Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

TIL when Mel Blanc (voice of Bugs Bunny) was trapped in a coma, he was unresponsive until a doctor tried asking, "Can you hear me, Bugs?" Blanc responded weakly, "Myeeeeh. What’s up doc?”
