Im sick and tired of the majority of our government being a bunch of old farts, all of our presdential candidates and leading senators are in their 70s, these old farts and boomers don't give a shit about our generation or the future they're leaving us with
I hate both of the old candidates of this election, tired of old people representing us in government
From an article all the way back in 2017: "Today, just 17 percent of federal workers are under 35 years old. (In the private sector, almost 40 percent are.) And more than a quarter of federal employees are now older than 55":
Edit: I'm NOT saying "don't vote bc the candidates are both old", by all means vote

Every company has their own app. Random algorithms spam you with content if you stop to look at something even briefly. Sites require multiple logins. Facebook has an ad every third post.
It just seems like the internet has become much more annoying and burdensome than it was even 10 years ago. Not to the point where you won't use it anymore, but to the point where they won't show you what you want to see; only what they think you want to see.

Millenials - the generation growing up near 2000 and grown up no later than 2020. If you can't remember bittorrent, wikileaks, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, or Barack Obama, you're not a millenial. You don't have to remember myspace. Yes, a millenial is a millennial and neither are recognized as a noun, only as an adjective, so both are not even a word.

Today's my 16th birthday. I pretty much don't have friends outside the family with whom I can celebrate (especially in real life), so I am sharing it in this subreddit. Oh God I'm 16 now, I don't feel like 16.
Edit: Guys (and gals), you're so wholesome! I sincerely thank you all, thank you for the amazing wishes!! Here, everyone, grab a piece of cake: 🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰🍰

As a somewhat younger millennial (32 here), I can't help but notice that at least in my own personal life, I hardly meet any other people who are into rock and/or alternative music. For example at my job which is a gym, all my coworkers are into rap, hip hop, and top 40 mainstream pop. I'm not too surprised that my Gen Z coworkers are not into rock and are mostly into rap though I genuinely felt old when I asked them if they knew who were Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, The Offspring, and Weezer and they had no clue who any of them were lol. But even with my coworkers around my age, none of them are really into rock type music so it's really just me. I remember even one of my coworkers saying how funny it is of how I'm black and really into that kinda music, they weren't being racist in saying that, just surprised and I totally understood what they meant haha.
But even with people I see come into my place of work, whenever I sometimes hear their earphones of what music their listening to, it's usually rap or hip hop and I've encountered those type of people who wear band shirts but don't know it's a band as well and well, it does make it hard to connect musically with people since I'm a huge rock fan. I know that it's not popular in the mainstream anymore and hasn't been since the turn of 2010 and it just makes me reminisce back to the 2000s when the whole garage/indie rock revival was happening and you had bands like The Strokes, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, and The White Stripes were on the scene. Granted I'm more into alternative rock but still lol. I definitely start feeling my age when it comes to music, that's for sure.
Anyway while I know I'm not the only one who listens to this kinda stuff still, I still am itching for conversation lol. Do any of you still love rock music or have you moved onto other genres?

Generation X was born, by broadest definition, between 1961 and 1981, the greatest anti-child cycle in modern history. Nevertheless, we grew up to become the world's most devoted parents: the "workhorse of America." This sub welcomes links, photos, graphics, memoirs, commentaries, stories, etc., for and about Gen-Xers, the 13th Generation of Americans. GenX also translates to many other parts of the world.
