Moriah on the Official Podcast

Her and Johnny had an argument the night before he left to film House of Villians. He sent her flowers while he was filming. They got back into the swing of things after filming HOV but now watching it she didn’t appreciate his flirting with the women there.

Says that Johnny called her his girlfriend but he never asked her the question so she didn’t consider them to be boyfriend/girlfriend.

Her and Johnny haven’t talked since filming 39. She said she’s dead to him.

She really does not like Colleen. Described her as vapid and boring to talk to.

Says that she and Olivia were ok with getting out Horacio because they don’t want to run against him in a final. Olivia didn’t want to have to say his name though.

Her and James keep in touch but are not in a relationship. She said if he lived closer to her that they would be bffs.

Says the second Melissa left Kyland was flirting with other girls including Olivia and Ravyn. Apparently there was slight beef for a second between Olivia and Ravyn over Emanuel but it wasn’t that serious. No one knew that Colleen and Emanuel had hooked up.

Berna would constantly pick fights with her. They were in a secret war.

She spent most of her time in the house hanging with Zara and James.

Jay wanted to throw out Horacio and Kyland but wanted someone else to do it.

People didn’t fully trust Corey still at this point on the game.

Michele had a lot of power over people and if she said to vote for Ed, then they would have voted for Ed.

A lot of people would talk about wanting to take out big targets, but when it came down to it it never happened.

Alone: The Official Podcast

https://www.history.com/alone-podcast

Hey Ya'll! Excited to share this project we've been working on for a lonnnnggg time finally come to fruition! This will start as a companion podcast for season 11 of Alone (which I must say is a REALLY amazing season, you're in for a major treat). In the future the podcast will move to being an all seasons re watch podcast starting with season 1!

Cohosted by Lucas Miller (s1), myself and our podcast producer/super fan Dan Brown. We will be chatting all things alone, going over the latest episodes, interviewing the folks who tap out (and eventually the winner!), and occasionally bringing on Alone producers, and previous participants to rewatch with us.

Airs every Friday after the new episode. Tomorrow we'll have a double episode featuring producer Ryan Pender for the behind the drop! Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts!

And feel free to drop questions about Alone in general or this new season at any point! We'll be doing a whole Q&A episode at the end of the season!

Thanks for following along!

A beautiful anecdote from the official podcast
r/ShogunTVShow

Shōgun, set in feudal Japan, charts the collision of two ambitious men from different worlds and a mysterious female samurai: John Blackthorne, a risk-taking English sailor who ends up shipwrecked in Japan, a land whose unfamiliar culture will ultimately redefine him; Lord Toranaga, a shrewd, powerful daimyo, at odds with his own dangerous, political rivals; and Lady Mariko, a woman with invaluable skills but dishonorable family ties, who must prove her value and allegiance.

A beautiful anecdote from the official podcast
false

On the Shogun official podcast, for episode 10, they had James Clavell's daughter Michaela on, and she gave a beautiful detail that I thought I'd type up and share for those who didn't see it.

It seems the Clavell family was involved nicely with the production, and Michaela Clavell was a credited producer. Anyway, they are talking about the scene where Fuji and Blackthorne are on the boat to scatter the ashes.

"My sister and I went up with my daughter to visit the set and watch them shoot some of the last episodes. And one of the last scenes is Fuji and Blackthorne sprinkling the ashes of Fuji's baby and Mariko's cross - out in the bay, the bay where I grew up, and where my father's ashes were sprinkled. So imagine our surprise when we, 40 years later, are shooting in that same bay, on a beach where I grew up playing on. You can't make this up!

It was such an extraordinary experience, to be there for such a complete circle of life moment. They rarely happen so perfectly, but this one did. And that scene brought tears so our whole family's eyes - there wasn't a dry eye in the house. It was magical. And my hope is that the people watching this see the same beauty - dark and light in all of it - the story, the landscape. It was so complex and so beautiful."

End of quote

Sometimes I find myself wishing that certain authors could be alive to see adaptations of their work. I feel that way about Frank Herbert and Dune, and I feel that way about Clavell.

If started listening to the series' official podcast yesterday and man, what a joy. It's hosted by one of the writers and in the first episode a historian, a costume designer and torunagas actor were interviewed. It perfectly adds to the series and gives a lot of background information. Made me appreciate the effort going into it even more. Highly recommend

Just heard a crazy story on the official podcast. The bay where they filmed the Blackthorne/Fuji scene with the ashes and cross is the same bay where James Clavell's ashes were spread.

The Official Podcast: Asaf episode

I've just started listening to "MTV's Official Challenge Podcast" (the one with Devyn and Da'Vonne, and last night I listened to the episode with Asaf. OMG- he's such an ass!

I am so used to this season production making people out to be villains but then they get on the podcast and you can really empathize with that person (Michelle and Olivia were big ones for me). With Asaf, it was the opposite. Production was so kind to this man. He's an absolute delusional mess of a human. Even Devyn and Da'Vonne tried so hard to be authentic but nice to him, but you could tell they were over him. Rightfully so!

Let me add: I don't think you need to listen to the podcast to enjoy the season, but if you have listened to the companion podcast, I would love to dish about this episode. It has be aghast.

Listen to the official Podcast. It explains alot

The official podcast is great. Especially if you are a book reader. Goyer really explains the decisions they made when they went changed things from the books.

I’ve read all 7 books. Last season there were some changes that I didn’t like. This season I have been listening to the podcast and it has increased my enjoyment.

Feel free to ask whatever you want.

THIS EPISODE: EPISODE SIX

RECORDING DATE: 18TH JANUARY

PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT QUESTIONS IN THIS THREAD AFTER TUESDAY EST. YOU WILL BE SUBMITTING THE QUESTION FAR TOO LATE FOR IT TO APPEAR IN THE NEXT EPISODE. WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT SUBMISSION THREAD (THE NEXT ONE WILL BE CREATED AND PINNED PRETTY QUICKLY THE FOLLOWING DAY, JUST KEEP AN EYE ON THE TOP OF THE SUBREDDIT).

Rules:

  • Only ask one question per post, it gets too confusing and chaotic otherwise. We'd prefer short and simple questions, but please leave a detailed enough question for us to do something with. It'd be best not to drag on in your explanation, though!

  • Read the other questions in the thread! Use the Up-Vote and Down-Vote accordingly for the questions that you like or dislike, so that the best questions can hopefully be answered and the bad ones can be ignored. Comment on other peoples questions too, especially if we've already been asked the question in a previous episode (we won't remember). Please try not to spam posts or over-comment, though, especially on discussions that are finished.

  • Low effort questions will, for the most part, be ignored, so try not to ask too many of those. Stick to the good, thoughtful stuff. Stuff that we can all work with, we do like to talk seriously and in-depth about questions when we can so that we can inject a bit of our humor into it.

  • Just for the sake of Jackson, who has to read all these questions, can you please use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It's so much easier to comprehend and understand. His eyes are susceptible to bleeding at the sight of poor grammar.
