I was waiting for someone else to post this but nobody did. Dave Smith recounts the whole situation with Destiny and explains why he's not interested in debating him. They talk about Destiny up until the first ad break, but go to 12:00 if you just want his excuse about debate tactics.

I watched a couple of clips from Chris Cuomo vs Dave Smith Debate. One of my favorite moments in the debate is Dave saying that old media is dead, there is no trust in goverment and all people trust Joe Rogan and Tucker Carlson instead.
I am not a fan of Chris Cuomo, but it facinates me what narrative about pandemic is being pushed. It almost feels like we lived through completely different periods of time. I remember everyone panicking and having no idea what kind of threat we were dealing with. Hospitals were full and people were dying in hallways. Healthcare workers were going to the frontline every day. Trump was in charge but he had no clear direction. Some people in the government took responsibility and made decisions. There was no way to do it right, every decision had bad outcomes. Now out of a sudden it was just flu and the whole thing was manufactured to control people. Mistakes were made, a lot of people profited from corruption, but we were in crisis and something had to be done. Now we have experts that knew what to do, but were silent then.

Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. I've been a libertarian my whole adult life, and seeing how it got defended by Dave Smith with such poor logos made me realize I need to brush up on my philosophical foundations if I want to defend my position in public.
My god I would not want to be put in such a situation if I were to be challenged on my beliefs. I think I've thought and read them trough, but seeing this makes me think I might just have the illusion of competence.
Edit: Destiny argues for people of different beliefs staying engaged and not retreating to their political bubbles. Would be so cool if we could cherish that indeed here instead of making fun of us if we are willing to engage <3

Is it a little annoying to any other comedy fan reading this knowing who Dave Smith is? He’s the 3rd or 4th nobody on Legion of Skanks. There’s Big Jay Okerson, who is an amazing storyteller that has somehow perfected his craft to have me sharing videos of him explaining how his friends watched him have sex with a neighbor.
Then Luis Gumez, who is funny sometimes but I watched all the roast battle competitions at the Stand on YouTube, I Feel like he’s s basically a household name.
The there’s the other two guys of Legion of Skanks … who I have no Idea who they are. Until Dave Smith started popping up on OmniLiberal tweets… and Piers Morgan…
And I thought “David Smith… hmmm… oh yeah He’s one of the LOS guys… and that’s about it.
Is he supposed to be the smart one of the band? He has never had any stand out performances. I remember Ari Schaffier, Shane Gillis and ever Martin Schorelli making an appearance.
But reoccurring cast member Dave Smith? Nothing.
Did he get a new manager? New PR guy?
Why do we give shit about what he has to say about anything?
Does anyone have any links to a video where Dave Smith brings out source based arguments? I have been scanning his videos because of this whole Twitter discussion about him not debating Destiny and I can't find anything that isn't just him rambling about how the US should be an isolationist state because anything we do has possible bad outcomes. I can't take it anymore.
