Andy Zaltzman on JJHo!

As a PG Wodehouse fan, I was already sucked in to today’s Judge John Hodgman episode about an obscure cricket rule. But once they started introducing Andy Zaltzman from The Bugle (one of the very best things on Earth today), I actually cheered and clapped in my car. I then crashed and died. So, in other, less important news, resurrection is real and immediate. Anyway, to see my peanut butter smash into my chocolate made me very, very happy. Hooray for cricket obsessives and baseball obsessives like Andy and Jesse getting together to spread fun and bullshit across the internet. A happy day indeed. (I haven’t read any news today, so I’m just going to assume everything else in the world has been fantastic today, please and thank you.)

[Andy Zaltzman] Yesterday's game was the 38th tie in 4046 completed men's ODIs. The 5th in 432 World Cup matches. On those numbers you would expect a tied World Cup final about once every 400 years.

News, banter and occasional serious discussion on the great game.

Andy Zaltzman: England have still never won a World Cup final, but are champions. New Zealand, probably the fifth best team in the group stage, probably should have lifted the trophy. None of it makes sense.
