Ubisoft doesn't give access to online play on Watch_Dogs (2014) for steam copies of the game. While the servers are still up and running on their own storefront.

I wanted to post this here as warning to people trying to play this title in the current day. This issue has been going on since at least 10 to 12 months. It has been acknowledged by Ubisoft on their official Discord server and their support team but nothing has been done for almost a year.

Currently, if you want to play online on Steam copies, you need to buy the same game on Ubisoft Connect (UPlay) and play it for 5 to 10 minutes in order for the Steam copy to connect to their servers.

I have linked some threads below discussing this issue, also their support team has been terrible. 30 days and no response come on. I want this post to warn people not to buy this game in the current condition.

TLDR: Ubisoft doesn't give access to online to players who bought the game on steam. Only way to play is to purchase the game for the second time on Ubisoft Connect (UPlay)

PC repair stole my PC and the police won't do anything : ( Please help!

Hi! :) I need help, I don't know what to do.

I sent in my PC for repairs. To the company I bought it from GTSA/Greattech Sweden.

Well it's now been more than a year and they refuse to return it.

They are extremely hard to get in contact with but the few times I've managed they've said either: "It will be ready soon" or "we are waiting for a invoice to be paid"

Problem is they've been saying that for more than a year and the invoice/bill has NEVER even existed so I can't pay it. All I know is how much it would cost if it did exist which is: 137 dollars.

(And that price is ONLY for the problem-solving/figuring out that it was my Motherboard that was broke (which I already knew))

I've now contacted the police here in Sweden as I've seen that a lot of other people have had similar dealings with this "company" - Sadly the police dropped it almost immediately.... So now I'm here : /

I need tips on what to do, should I just keep reporting them to the police until something happens?

Please if anyone here has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it, and I'm sorry for my poor English it's not my native language. Cheers! : )

Google Cloud accidentally deletes UniSuper’s online account due to ‘unprecedented misconfiguration’

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/article/2024/may/09/unisuper-google-cloud-issue-account-access

“This is an isolated, ‘one-of-a-kind occurrence’ that has never before occurred with any of Google Cloud’s clients globally. This should not have happened. Google Cloud has identified the events that led to this disruption and taken measures to ensure this does not happen again.”

This has taken about two weeks of cleaning up so far because whatever went wrong took out the primary backup location as well. Some techs at Google Cloud have presumably been having a very bad time.
