Is probably an age thing but I like the fact most games are short non AAA experiences. I cannot be bothered to sink 30-40 hours in a single open world games bogged down with cut scenes. It feels like a waste of time...which is probably why I love physical games so much you actually feel like you are getting something back in terms of fitness. Sure watching films and TV is a waste of time but if you.do both you are doubling your wasted time!

Much like I hate Big budget marvel films...

Anyone else feel like this or am I alone?

Tengo miedo :(

Hey. So I have been experimenting with cinema mode, and honestly between the improved frame rate (not a PC gamer, I’m coming from a PS4) and the faster loading times it basically plays like a new game. When I tried cinema mode it was super immersive (I also use the Pulse wireless headset so audio is great), I don’t play a lot of FPS games, but plan on trying a few in cinema mode to see what clicks. Plus I can finally play lying down or reclined lol

Why don't you play the VR games that came out those past 7 years ?

There are around 2,6/3M VR headset connected by month on steam VR (according to survey and this Road to VR article .

I also discovered last week this website : https://vginsights.com/ which numbers seem legit.

How come, only 275k users bought Walking dead : Saints and sinners on steam ?

I'm asking this, because it's weird seeing posts about "there are no VR games" when you do have amazing indie ones and none of those 3M VR monthly users bought those ! Only 14k bought Windlands 2, only 83k bought Walkabout minigolf, only 60k for Vertigo 2 and 27K for The light brigade. I mean, you're missing really great games here !

I post this here, because, I've seen a lot of rant about how Quest killed VR, but if you don't actually play games on PC, how do you want devs and bigger studios to make games on PCVR ?

Not saying to buy them all, try to buy a VR game once a month, you'll see, there are already plenty of great and amazing VR games.

Also, why the hell this subreddit blocked youtube ? How do you make new players to discover and share trailers about new VR games ?

In the US at least, the collection is listed at $27.99 which is a new all-time low. If you're on this sub you've probably read dozens of threads/comments already about how crystal clear these games look and they are usually a mainstay in the most commonly loved VR games.

They were worth it at full price for me, but the fact that you can get both for less than $30 now is crazy. If you have been on the fence and want a couple of fantastic single player games to check out, this is a great time to dive in!

Quick review of Razer's Quest 3 strap and facial interface

I just got them both today and thought I'd share my thoughts. Keeping it short and sweet.

Both items look really nice and seem well made.

The facial interface is deeper than the stock facial interface which does make the FOV slightly smaller. However, it is larger/wider on the face which makes it noticeably more comfortable in my opinion. I went back and forth between it and the stock interface and I very much prefer Razer's even if I do lose some FOV. The shiny black plastic looks really nice. I don't like the nose cover on any facial interface and whereas there are some where you can just pull off the nose piece, Razer's is not removable. So if you're like me and don't like those nose pieces then you'll have to cut it off like I did.

Now onto the strap.

I want a good cloth strap because I want to use my Quest to watch 3D movies at home and just general media/movie watching when travelling. Often, I am sitting on a couch with my head resting on a headrest. The halo type straps make this very uncomfortable to do, but it's great if you have a cloth strap. I've tried a couple cloth straps and this is definitely the most comfortable and well made. Unfortunately, there just are not a lot of cloth strap options out there. However, it's not perfect and it did feel like it was slipping up the back of my head a bit. Not as bad as others, but it is an issue. However, I had one of these that I used with the stock strap:

Amazon.com: APEXINNO VR Head Strap Pad for Meta Quest 3 Quest 2 Headset Accessories, TPU Head Strap Cushion for Oculus Quest 3 / Vision Pro Original Head Strap, Bracket for The Back of The Head Headstrap : Video Games

and I used a couple of small velcro straps to secure it to the back and it works great! It feels very comfortable and secure. The other nice thing is that you have straps on the side where it connects to the headset's arms that can be adjusted alongside the adjustable top strap. The extra benefit is that you can run headphone wires through these straps to secure them.

So overall pretty happy with my set up now even if it was a bit pricey.

I want to thank VR and this sub for helping me deal with my depression

Hasn’t been long since I got my Quest 3 headset, but I gotta say, it’s been quite a refreshment not only for my gaming activities, but for my physical well being as well. I was quite skeptic about VR in general because the entire thing didn't make much sense to me before trying it, but now I’m more than happy to have been proven wrong about it.

I initially got a headset just to try and get out of the gaming rut that I had fallen into mostly due to some real life stuff (work, mental health…) which also resulted in a weight gain. While I was checking for games to try, my main goal was to have fun which is why one of the first titles I bought were Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx. Although I had a lot of fun, breaking into this completely new dimension of gaming and having the chance to appreciate its greatness first-hand did push me wanting for more, so I added Into the Radius and Resident Evil 4 (I have a thing for horrors) to my collection.

Then I started looking more into the fitness benefits of VR games, even more because of the weight gain I went through due to my declining mental health. I saw some people here recommend Powerbeats VR and Supernatural VR as great workout tools and I decided to give them a shot. Both were definitely very accessible and easy to get into so it made for a very smooth start - I started slowly and working out in VR eventually turned it into a habit. I kinda found myself spending more time in PowerBeatsVR cause it allowed me to make my own custom sessions with custom music and because it clicked with me perfectly in terms of gameplay/workout balance. I also want to add 2 honorable mentions here - Thrill of the Fight and Pistol Whip, both very fun and challenging games.

The fact that I had a new thing to look forward to every day and a new way to deal with my weight issues (they caused me to feel a little insecure, not gonna lie) gave me that initial lift. I found a good therapist and soon enough, my mental health as well as physical health started improving rapidly, and it's all due to me lurking on this sub and reading all the posts and comments about VR and VR games.

Thank you guys, I hope this post inspires someone the same way you inspired me! If you have any questions or need any help on your own journey, please don't shy away from leaving a comment ;)

LOL Someone on the PS5 sub said I was on the wrong side for wishing for a new Astro Bot game for VR2

And many replies that I want because VR2 is dead and has no games to play LOL

It's weird how this narrative of PSVR2 = bad is very persistent even inside the PS community and not just outside. The device is great, I have a lot of games to play and many I'm playing right now and loving, but in the internet the device is consider "bad" and you're wrong for owning one.

I hope someday VR becomes more mainstream and popular so we can stop seeing so much misinformation about these devices. I have a Quest 3 too, but I prefer VR2, and the same thing happen to Quest 3 when I see a discussion about VR in the internet.
