Highly recommend reading here on twitter.
Deeply weird behavior from James following his more public posts, including but not limited to going to bat for himself, as well as posting his ass and balls publicly after faking his own suicide. He's privated the account so I cant get anything from his page, but what an unbelievable loser.

Ok, so getting it out of the way up front. This is gonna be more discussion about The Orb Incident. I don’t hate Aabria, but this is a prime example of how changing rules can affect gameplay and narrative buy-in at the table. Matt has pulled similar stunts over the years (and even recently involving adding a size restriction on Sentinel when it didn’t have one initially) but this is one with big enough narrative ramification so I have an excuse to post this.
So if players can ask to do absurd things in the name of Rule of Cool, why can’t DMs do absurd things in the name of Rule of Cruel?
Short Answer: Because, in Aabria’s own words, it’s mean but it also erodes trust in a DM, hurts narrative stakes, and is an inherently uneven playing field.
Longer Answer: So the core of D&D is that it’s an improv game with rules that act as guideposts for certain situations. You can change guideposts you dislike, but that’s typically a group agreement. You use these guideposts as a reference for the actions you can and cannot take, and if you want to push your luck you ask the DM to try. If your DM changes the guideposts mid-game, it alters what choices you’re going to make and can even force consequences on you that you couldn’t have predicted.
Which leads into narrative consequences for actions you took that had negative outcomes you couldn’t have foreseen feeling really shitty. As an example from this very episode, Aabria frames Dorian’s pain at his brother’s death as “if he was stabbing him himself” because of the Chromatic Orb. But… Robbie used the spell as intended, and Aabria changed the spell to hurt Cyrus. Those emotional consequences for Dorian are being forced by the DM changing a rule to achieve an outcome that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Now the CR cast are putting on a show so they can’t argue too much with the DM about it but that’s an extremely unfair narrative and character consequence for using the spell as intended. But what can you do, the DM said that was the outcome.
With Rule of Cool, the player is reaching out to the DM to do something outside the scope of the rules. With rule of Cruel, the DM is punching down at a player and making them live with the consequences of something fully out of their control, on a meta and gameplay level. And that’s really bad D&D.

Yo! MrSheen from Archive of Pimps here, as we are all aware with Rooster Teeth shutting down within the next few days (on May 15th 2024) many people are right to be concerned that the content will be lost to time once the site shuts down.
This is where we at the Archive of Pimps come in! We are a group dedicated to archiving all of RT's videos on YouTube and on the RoosterTeeth site so that people can continue to enjoy Rooster Teeth's content even after the shut down!
We have archived over 95% of all Rooster Teeth's videos over YouTube and on the site all to Internet Archive for everyone to continue enjoying! Thanks to some absolute wizards, we are pleased to announce you can now view these in a YouTube style website (with comments)! The site also has transcript search which means you can search for a memorable word or phrase and find the video that it's spoken in.
The site will first attempt to play the video on the YouTube side before falling back over to the Internet Archive side to preserve monitization to the channels and to help take some of the load of Internet Archive however, there are two outstanding tasks to make it the best it can be!
Video matching:
With the site having an embed of the YouTube videos and their Internet Archive counterparts and both have different ID's, there has been a massive effort to pair each video to eachother but there will be some missed and some still to link! If you would like to help with the effort, head over to the Discord (link below) where we can point you in the right direction to help pair the videos up!
Missing videos:
We’re still missing about 1800 videos that we can’t recover from the RT site. If you think you might have any of these videos saved, please get in touch.
If you would like to help out with these, visit the Archive of Pimps website where there's a Discord link for the server!

So to be clear I’m talking about Zach the character, not him as a person. I really feel like he is the one who plays into his role as the sorta childish/goofy one and I don’t think he’s the same off camera as he is in videos.
His immaturity didn’t use to bother me in the beginning of the try guys because it was well balanced with the other guys and felt natural. But now multiple years later it just feels forced and it’s gotten so old. There are so many YouTubers who have grown with their audience and shown that, but Zach’s reliance on this character is making it so I don’t want to watch videos with him in it.
I might just be being too harsh, but has anyone else felt similar?

In Midnight Motorist the TV watcher is Mrs. Afton. The escaped son is Michael. There is a black rectangle on the face of Mrs. Afton. I think she has sunglasses on- indicating she is blind and just listening to the TV. Nobody else in MM has facial features. I think that rectangle is WAY too big to be an eye.
In Sister Location, Ballora uses only sound to find the player. She is likely possessed by the spirit of Mrs. Afton- which William made because she liked music and was unable to peruse dancing in life due to her blindness.
In UCN, Ballora has a voice line saying, “All I see is an empty room.” She is able to see as in- the animatronic Ballora can physically see, but the spirit of Mrs. Afton chooses not to open her eyes because she did before and it’s just empty. Mrs. Afton feels more comfortable relying on sound as she did in life.
In Dance with Me from the Fazbear Frights series, the protagonist is a girl who stole a bag containing a special pair of glasses that allows her to see Ballora. Needing glasses to see someone that couldn’t see in life would be an interesting parallel.
