  • Diplomatic sources revealed an offer made by the UAE to South Africa, which includes huge investments to withdraw from suing Israel in the International Court of Justice.

Emirates Leaks sources reveal UAE officials sought to persuade South Africa to drop its Court of Justice case against Israel by offering billions in oil refinery investments.

According to the sources, Emirati officials sought for weeks to secretly offer various temptations to their counterparts in South Africa, including opening various economic relations between the two countries.

In addition, the only Emirati request from South Africa was to withdraw from suing Israel or at least reduce the severity of the genocide charge included in the file in the Court of Justice.

However, South Africa insisted, after filing the lawsuit, on proceeding with the International Court of Justice and ignoring the Emirati offer, according to the same sources who indicated extreme disappointment in Abu Dhabi at the failure of these attempts.

  • it sounds like a joke but literally so many of you would've been supportive of the vietnam invasion by america and would've accused draft dodgers and draft card burners of being divisive

  • i think regardless of generation or timeframe a deeply american problem is the inability to imagine a better world if the establishment tells you it cannot exist + a deeply self-centered idea of compassion where american citizens matter more than any other type of human being. we've been doing the oppositional "i'm good and whatever's against me is evil so i have no obligation to challenge my contemporaries" shit for literal centuries now and no amount of "i'm lgbt and it's 2024!" will divorce you from your attachment to oppressive regimes.

  • Hunger Striking for Palestinians

The genocide in Gaza has been going on for way too long. War crimes are being committed against the general population and causing widespread devastation and catastrophic levels of destruction, displacement, and starvation.

Next week, I am starting a hunger strike to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza. I invite you to support me by sponsoring my hunger strike.

To support this (safe) hunger strike, I would like you all to contribute to my dear friend Hani’s (@skatehani) GoFundMe campaign, in order to help his family evacuate.

I will add one day to my hunger strike for every collective €50 donated to his campaign. You can donate any amount. I will hunger strike for up to TEN DAYS so I am aiming to have at least €500 donated to Hani.

After donating any amount you wish, send your proof of donation to me through an ask or DM. Please make sure the date is showing, but do not share any personal or private information.

If you cannot donate, make sure to share this post and Hani’s GoFundMe

Let's come together to support the people of Gaza. Please donate to Hani and support my hunger strike. Thank you.

  • The Eurovision song contest is facing intense scrunity and accusations of discrimination after it rebuked Swedish-Palestinian pop star Eric Saade for wearing a Palestinian scarf in the opening act of the semi-finals.

Saade, whose father is of Palestinian origin, kicked off the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden on Tuesday evening with a keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian and Arab male headdress, wrapped around his wrist.

[...] In response, the organisers of the contest, European Broadcasting Union (EBU) released a statement saying it "regretted" that Saade wore the scarf.

"The Eurovision Song Contest is a live TV show. All performers are made aware of the rules of the contest, and we regret that Eric Saade chose to compromise the non-political nature of the event," it said.

[...] Eurovision later posted clips of the performances of the other two opening acts on its social media pages, but did not share Saade’s, prompting social media users to share the performance on their personal pages to show support for the artist.

Waving Palestinian flags, wearing traditional Palestinian garments, or if we're being honest, just being Palestinian, is now officially "too political" for Eurovision.

Literally, all Saade did was wear a keffiyeh around his wrist—while being Palestinian—and that was enough to get a statement from the EBU, and have his opening performance scrubbed from Youtube.

If you're not already boycotting Eurovision this year, then what the fuck is wrong with you?

Below are two statements from Saade. The first one, giving his reason for participating, was posted a few days ago, and the other was in response to the EBU accusing him of 'compromising the non-political nature' of the Genocide Song Contest:

First.. This is a love message. When you are no longer able to wear a symbol of your ethnicity in our so-called ‘Free world, it is more important than ever for me to participate. EBU’s handling of Eurovision is disgraceful. They do not permit any Palestinian symbols inside the Arena, while symbols representing any other ethnicity in the world are welcomed. Their slogan ‘United by music’ (if you’re not Palestinian) is already a joke. By broadcasting Is*eli propaganda during prime time to the whole world, yet focusing on banning the Palestinian flag? Therefore, it is more crucial than ever for me to be present on THAT STAGE. You may take our symbols, but you cannot take away my presence Love u.ALT
“This was just my way of showing a part of my origin, which is important in a world like this. I got that keffiyeh from my dad when I was a little boy, to never forget where the family comes from. Back then, I didn’t know one day be called a ‘political symbol’ by EBU. It’s like calling the ‘Swedish Dola Horse’ a political symbol… In my eyes, it’s just racism. “I just wanted to be inclusive and wear something that is authentic to me – but the EBU seems to think my ethnicity is controversial. It says nothing about me, but everything about them. “I’ll stick to this year’s ESC slogan: United By Music! “I can only hope for some kind of change in the future.”ALT

Reminder again to BOYCOTT EUROVISION 🇵🇸
