Considering acts 1-5 as full canon and acts 6-7 as semi-canon its not that hard to summarize John's feats for complete understending him as character. From the start, in acts 1-3 he is positioned by Hussie as weakest and lamest of the kids, getting heavily outclassed by both Rose and Dave. After specific point it was confirmed that John by himself bascially cant do anything. He just would be dead, if future Dave dont come to rescue him. After that, John is making some progress, but all of this happening only because of the fact that he is doing exactly what women telling him to do (Rose, then Terezi, then Vriska) With this he is oficially positioned by Hussie as a submissive beta-male. Then, we suppose to appreciate John, because he was first player to achieve god tier(Only because of Vriska's help) but this DONT CHANGE ANYTHING. In his first confrontation with his god tier he still gets ABSOLUTELY OBLITERATED by Jack's superior power, while even Rose, being still non god-tiered could put better fight against him.

For the next argument, we come to outcome of Game Over, when again, JOHN COULDNT DO SHIT BY HIMSELF. We still need to see how Terezi tells him what to do in order for him to fix something. All of his character development, that he supposedly gain in previous acts feels non-existent.

At the end, he is basically only major character, who was left alone, without any hinders for having canon relationships, so IDK why basically everyone in althomestuck thinks that he is alpha guy who gets a lot of women's attention.

John came to a unsatisfying conclusion, largely due to Hussie constantly retconning his character development. He basically for the whole homestuck plot was outclassed by Rose and Dave with them being either better players, or better as characters/people. Need for him to constantly rely on women's help is what specifically disproves him being a chad.

I always enjoyed egbertposting because i always wanted better for John, but you need to understand the reality and not try to twist it. Fanon John is chad. Canon John is beta mediocre nerd.

Result: John is not a chad. Caliborn Is. Periodt.
