With Exar being only in his 20s and completely taking the Galaxy by storm within a year, it is crazy to think what would’ve happened had his rampage happened later in his years or for a longer period of time. If he decided to consolidate his forces and continue his growth in the Force for like a few years or even decades, would he have been more successful than the likes of Revan and the Triumvirate?
Now I’m not talking patience as in Vitiate or that of Darth Bane and his Sith, but more so Revan and Krayt, where they kinda decided to bide their time for a bit before attacking.
(Note: I’m a huge fan of Exar Kun and know his story lore-wise but haven’t actually read much of it myself, so don’t bash me too hard if I’m reaching here lol)

So a mate lent me I, Jedi, and I'm working through that (work being the operative word, I really do think that Corran Horn is a bit of a cock), but I was very excited to find out that Exar Kun was in this book. I'll be honest, I do have a bias towards Exar Kun, but cause at primary school my introduction to the EU was his comic. I thought he was pretty awesome and made a great villain there, and was really looking forward to seeing a bunch of novice jedi struggle against such a formidable foe.
And then I get to the bit where he's announced to be dead, off screen. The fact that Exar Kun isn't even the big bad of the book and seems to just be a mini boss for the half way mark is an absolute travesty if you ask me. If this is the end of the character, I honestly don't know if I'm going to bother finishing it. It would have been better to let the man stay dead than to bring him back for this.
He wasn't even that exciting to read about honestly. After all the stuff we see various force spirits/wraiths etc etc do, all Exar Kun does is possess (and melt one, I did find that pretty cool) a couple of novices, summoned some pretty useless bird/bad things, and disarm some bombs. Honestly I was hoping things would pick up when he starts bashing Corran around, but even then he just ends up like some Marvel B-list moustache twirling villain. And then he's gone. Yeah, I get he can't just kill the main character (although I'd argue if you want to avoid that, don't write them into that position), but the even when he beat up Corran, he just feels so toothless. Jedi-cop is just snarking at him the whole time, there's no real feel of any gravitas or power at all in here.
After putting up with Corran's sanctimonious attitude to see a cool showdown with a favourite villain of mine, man, it was just really disappointing. I don't know if people feel differently to me on this one, I've hear a lot of good things about Stackpole's work, but this has just soured me. Is it worth pressing on with the book? Maybe it's just not for me.

What do you think that the Sith Lords who succeeded Exar Kun thought about the Dark Lord of the Great Sith Wars and creator of the double-bladed lightsaber ?
What do you think that his more immediate successors such as Darth Revan and Darth Malak, the members of the Sith Triumvirate or True Sith Empire, and more distant successors such as the Banite Sith or One Sith thought about him and his powers and achievements ?
