Benediction-Flexi 8" (bootleg,199..?)

This little red gem comes from the late '80's and its a forgotten flexi from the old school deathsters Benediction. Metal orientated crusties know these vets who along with Bolt Thrower kept the flag of UK's old school death metal high since late '80's. Back in the day and when i was deep into to grindcore and death metal shit, they were one of my favorite bands along with Carcass, Napalm Death, Prophecy of Doom, Terrorizer, Disharmonic Orchestra etc. And since there is a post from these monsters why not something from Benediction? so here we go: "death metal reigns!!!"
The flexi comes in the unusual size of eight inches (which is too large for the usual plastic sleeves made for 7 inch ep's) and brings two songs that last about eight minutes: Subconscious Terror is of course the title track of their first lp and Bonesaw which appeared only in The Dreams You Dread demo tape from1989, (if the song or riffs of it appeared in a song in official release is a question that can be replied by Benediction die hard followers) the recording is live and was probably recorded in the years '89-'91 when Barney was still in the band before join Napalm Death (i love his grunting "punk is dead, rock is dead, hardcore is dead,death metal reigns!") and before Dave Ingram's arrival on vokill duties. Quality wise, this is far from the level of Antisect bootleg and even the cover artwork is far from Benediction's image and lyrical topics. I don't know the year this came out (probably in early '90's) or how many copies were made, if you know any information please share it with us, all i know is this little piece of red flexible vinyl and poor photocopied paper used to reach some high and insane prices on eBay's insanity.
And just a few more lines of meaningless ranting: Some great news about Benediction came up back in 2008 when they announced the release of a split with Wolfbrigade on FETO Rec.s after a seven year hiatus. My enthusiasm turned slowly into disappointment because the record never saw the light of day and the project died in oblivion. Killing Music their latest release is an amazing piece of old school death metal with plenty of crust influences and covers of Amebix and Broken Bones, don't give a shit about the low rates of reviewers in Metal Archives, they just are not into crust.

Antisect-Out from the void 7" (bootleg)

First post of the year and here's a bootleg which stands equal to the original release: Antisect followed the wave of reunion of old crust bands and you may call it middle age crisis or awakening from their long time hiatus or return to the first love or whatever, the fact is that they are here: Amebix, Doom, and Deviated Instinct are some of the old masters who were back in action when i had this discussion with a friend many moons ago and sometime i said "how about Antisect and Axegrinder? they didn't come back yet". Well, some months later Antisect were back to join the club of reunited legends and Axegrinder are left for their come back if ever happens.
Out from the void is one of the milestone releases of crust punk genre and everything that could be said has already been said. I posted the original record some year ago in the first days of existence of this blog, here. The copy here is a bootleg which came out sometime in '00's, i don't know exactly the year (any help is appreciated) and quality wise looks like the original: It comes in a nice and well made cover in the standards of original release (it's not just a xeroxed photocopied piece of paper that many times bootlegs come with), the vinyl labels are exactly the same with the original and the surprise come from the vinyl which is clear white with some black shades. I don't know how many copies were made, if you know that or any other information about the record just drop some lines and enlighten us.

Rotting Christ/Sound Pollution-The Other Side of Life split 7" (bootleg)

This little gem brings you the globally known Rotting Christ and the widely unknown Sound Pollution in a split ep which was the first official release of R.C. and the only vinyl release of S.P.
Rotting Christ need no introduction, before they become known as metal lords they were a noisecore/grindcore band, they recorded a few demo tapes with Carcass-ic medical lyrics (Decline's Return, Leprosy of Death) before they start their journey into black metal realms with Satanas Tedeum demo from 1989. Internet is full of info and resources about them so there is no need to blurb any shit.
Sound Pollution was formed in 1988 as Ηχορύπανση (Ehorypansi, sound pollution in Greek), they recorded a couple of demo tapes: Practic Holocaust (1988) and Demo 1989, they had a split tape with Seven Minutes of Nausea (contributing the 2nd demo tracks) and appeared in Nobody Listens Anymore comp (1988, PPR Records). After some line up changes the band split into two new bands:the black metallers Varathron and the crusties Industrial Suicide (Βιομηχανική Αυτοκτονία,Viomihaniki Aftoktonia) which included people from Forgotten Prophecy and Negative Stance, I.S recorded two demo tapes (demo 1989 and demo 1990), they appeared in Delirum Tremens #17, Bonds of Friendship benefit comp. (1990,tape) and called it a day in 1991 or so, some members along with people from Panikos and Social Outcasts continued with Human Lethargy.
Both bands deliver similar psychoterroristic grindcore farting songs of a less than a minute lenght each, Rotting Christ deliver their Carcass-ic medical terminology with gory background while Sound Pollution grunts and growls are more into socio-political side of things, furthermore the bands shared some members (i think the "vocalist" is the same person in this recording, any help from old time Greek grinders is appreciated), sound quality is horrible, the record came in blue vinyl (this one here is a bootleg) consisting of nine Rotting Christ and ten Sound Pollution songs (or "songs") and a sheet with lyrics was included.
From a comment on Youtube written by Spyros (a.k.a. Captain Death), Sound Pollution-Varathron and Vomit drummer, we found that the influences of S.P were Doom, Napalm Death,Siege and Mob47. Carcass, Sarcofago and Agathocles were the inspiration of R.C and this split was supposed to be with S.P. and a Yugoslavian band but finally RC covered the other side of vinyl.
This split reaches incredibly high prices when pops up on ebay, just take a look at this picture ( or search it in Discogs.com) and to coin Roilo Golez of Brave New World blog, "The Greek government should take in consideration the potential of their early local noise band to solve their public debt crisis." Well i don't if this post speeds on the process to downfall or reduces the imaginary income this record could bring to Greek state as a parameter in a chaotic mathematical equation ( and i have no remorse at all,hahahaha!) but on the other hand this record and its chaotic wrath beyond music forms and the usual formulas describes the Greek Indignados, even the cover artwork is connected with them: Some gallows appeared today in front of Greek parliament, watch it here :)

Doom-Multinationals raping mother nature 7" (bootleg)

This will be the last post for this year: Its been sometime since the last post but its not a matter of boredom or lack of free time, just got this gloomy feeling, this crisis has its effect on my everyday life and my inner self and i just don't enjoy blogging. Not any other words on it cos it will lead me to delete what i typing.
So lets demystify one of the well kept secrets of Doom legacy: Multinationals Raping Mother Nature is a bootleg ep, if am correct it was bootlegged in Finland and came out in 1991, it delivers seven tracks live recorded in November 13th, 1989 in Derby, UK and only 500 copies were made. Labels are light blue and blank, cover is photocopied, tracks that included here are some of Doom classics: Police bastard, Fear of the future, Slave to Convention, A dream to come true. Seven songs that last over ten minutes and deliver a rare Doom document from late '80's, sound quality is very good and delivers the goods.
This is a must have for die hard Doom record collectors and the limited number of copies makes it hard to get, it rarely appears on eBay (i noticed only one copy on eBay during the last six months and was sold for 20-25$ or so, not that bad price wise, isn't it? no i didn't buy that one) and since you all love Doom this is your Xmass present, enjoy it!
I have not anything else to say, go grab it and if you know anything about the origin of this or any information (exact year, country, etc) please drop a few lines and enlighten us. As i said this is the last post of this year but.. who knows ...

SS Decontrol-The kids have had their say 7" (bootleg,1990)

A little hardcore break and the first sXe record ever posted in this blog: Never thought i see me posting a straight edge record but what the hell... SS Decontrol (a.k.a. SSD) were "one of the first Boston hardcore bands and the core of the infamous "Boston Crew and the "narrow minds who think the narrow way"(mentioned in the liner notes to This is Boston Not LA of Modern Method Records). Their hardcore testament were The Kids Will Have Their Say 12"(1982, XClaim!/Dischord Rec.s), and Get it away LP (1983, XClaim!), then the change of their name to SSD brought some changes to the straight edge beliefs of band members and music wise they walked a new music direction. All this shit plus some details about their days and times back in the early 80's and about Boston scene can be found in Kill From the Heart.
I'm not much in to hardcore and definitely i m not into straight edge (actually a beer is here by my keyboard while i am typing this crap and these militant kids of '80's are far away to kick away the ladder lol lol lol) but The kids have had their say is a rare and hard to get bootleg because of the limited number of copies so is worth to be here and more or less that's how the story goes: This bootleg came out in 1990 and consisted of six tracks recorded live back in 1982 at Buff Hall, Camden, New Jersey. SSD people weren't happy about this, they discovered who did the bootleg (Revelation Records), they managed to remove a part of pressed copies and the remaining pieces became rare. This is it! According to Flex! only 400 copies were made, 60 numbered copies came with lyric sheet and poster.
Thats the rant, thanks to Pete for this gem. Despite of being a rare shit i saw a guy in a forum selling it for only 5 bucks, a copy appeared in eBay some months ago.

Wretched-In nome del loro potere tutto e'stato fatto 7''

This is a bootleg of Wretched's classic first ep (after the split w Indigesti) that was self-released back in 1983. No chance to find a lot of blurb shit about this, more or less you know about these vets since Wretched were one of the bands that marked the Italian hardcore scene and along with some others they were the moving power in the global hardcore scene in early '80's : "The band took strong anti-war and pro-anarchist stands through their lyrics and imagery. They also self-released all of their records on a label that came to be known as Chaos Productions. The band lived at the infamous Milano squat Virus, which played host to many classic hardcore shows in the early-mid '80's". Kill From The Heart has a detailed history of band and you will find it here. According to discogs this came out in 1000 copies and included an insert, the title translates "In the name of their power and made in order to destroy the world you live in" or something like that and that's what it delivers: Eight tracks of primitive and cacophonous hardcore with discordant guitars, chaotic drums, basic basslines and sickening vocals. And that was back in the beginning in early '80s.

Disrupt-Rid the cancer 7" (bootleg)

Its been a long time since a Disrupt ep was posted here, so here is one more piece of shit by them: I don't know anything about this rarity and the guy who gave it doesn't known any shit too. Rid the cancer is a bootleg 7" released by D.A.M. Records (the label thats behind Disrupt/Resist-split ep). this must came out sometime in early/mid 90's and if i m not mistaken some years later a repress saw the light of day. Unfortunately there's no any info on the web, if you know any info about it (year of release, number of copies, vinyl color etc) just drop a line.
There are seven tracks here and as expected the usual grinding crust of Disrupt shreds, just to mention that the tracks come from different sessions: A side's three songs are taken from Disrupt 's side of 7" split with Destroy while B side's four tracks are taken from the split with Resist. The party lasts for about 9:20", definitely each session sounds different (A side sounds raw and more primitive) but both sides deliver the solid and manic grinding crust of Disrupt that we all know.

S.O.D.-Sound of Disaster 7"

This is Mjölby, not NY: Sweden's S.O.D. started about the same time with Stormtroopers of Death from Big Apple: Their first recorded material was a demo tape from 1983, they released two ep's, Sound of Disaster (1985) and Speak Swedish or Die (1990,Really Fast) and according to Swedish Punk there is the Stabilitet? ep from 1997 on Hepatit D (a copy is still available in this distro) and Lagar Och förordningar boot ep from 2000, they also appeared in some compilations
Actually the copy of Sound of Disaster you got here is a boot too and comes with a big center hole (the ring that you put in the hole and play the record in the turntable was lost in my messed room and it took me centuries to find it). Anyway, boot or not, here you got S.O.D.'s hardcore that stands equal to other Swedish legends of these days. Originally released in 1985 by Cross Records, it delivers six fast tracks of ripping n thrashing hardcore.
Thats the short rant, now go get it @320. I don't know whats going on and some uploads are dead, this shit keeps happening. Some links were deleted without warning and its impossible to find it out, so when you see "The file link that you requested is not valid" just make a comment to fix it

Terrorizer-Re-animating the dead 7"

A rare and hard to get piece of grinding noise recorded back in 1987, but lets start from the beginning:
Terrorizer have been bootleged again and again: They released only one official record but their demos and rehearsal recordings used to pop up on vinyl here and there: Their first demo "Nightmares", the eponymous 7" or "From the tomb" are a only a few that come to mind.
"Re-animating the dead" is one of these bootlegs but unlike the other Terrorizer boots this is a live and not a demo/rehearsal recording: A four track ep that sometimes is known as "Live at Hoover" or "Live at the Hoover Auditorium"((Los Angeles, CA) 21.02.1987. Cultmetal says this was released in 2004 and was "limited to 300 or 500 copies (100 green vinyl, 200 or 400 black) and Blank innersleeve". The sound quality is a bit horrible but this was recorded in 80's so don't expect high quality sound level, it works as a must have and piece of rarity for die hard fans
"Crematorium" and "Benediction"appeared for first time in "Nightmares", the first Terrorizer demo while "Re-Animator" comes from a rehearsal in April 1987 known as "Day zero (included in "From the tomb" bootleg along with the rehearsal of August 22), also there a Nausea (LA) song titled Re-animator and appears in Psychological Conflict 7" and maybe is the same song, "Evil dead" is a Death cover.
There is this unofficial Terrorizer site but a lot of infos are missing in their record catalog and even some tracks lists might be wrong (all tracks that appear in the st 7" bootleg are not listed in 4/25/ 1987 rehearsal despite the boot tracks come from this rehearsal)
I know that comments has turned into let down lately and we have become a ghost town but in case you know any infos about this boot or Terrorizer's demo-graphy, (any info about the rehearsal '88 in Tampa Florida?...), make a comment and enlighten us. but before that, go and get it

Carcass-Pathologic 7" boot

Believe it or not i tried twice to post this before but i stepped back because of the gory shit, i had a discussion with Whispy about it and still doubt . But today and after watching the news about the earthquake in China and disaster in Myanmar, i went out and met some guys hanging around and bullshiting about the soccer cup final game, when i said about about these things they said "so what? why should me care about?", i said nothing and went away. I know such shitheads there are everywhere but indignation sometimes can,t be buried and wrath goes beyond political barriers when alienation, cynicism and indifference have a disgusting and arrogant face a million times uglier than some gory lyrics...anyway if you think this ep shouldn't be here just say it...

"Pathological" lp/cd comp was released in 1989 by Pathological Records, it was a strange record far from the usual standards about the variety of a common compilation, i mean its weird to find some grindcore bands standing together with industrial or experimental acts: Carcass(Grindcore), Napalm Death(in a atmospheric ambient track), Godflesh(Industrial), Stretchheads(experimental noise/punk), God(noise), Silverfish (noise-rock),Terminal Cheesecake(Space rock). Very unusual indeed...
The fist time i listened to this was from a trade tape from a guy i had traded several times back in late 80's/early 90's, i don't know how he made it this time and the tape had the worse sound i ever heard, maybe he did this to joke on me, i still have this tape but its been more than a decade since i listened it. A bad recorded tape with some noisy bands...

I don't know how many years after the release of this comp this ep came out but the Carcass tracks in "Pathologian" are the tracks that appear in "Pathologic" : 1000 copies were made,"Genital grinder II" is probably the one and only instrumental song of Carcass, it is the first track of "Reek Of Putrefaction" lp and here appears in a alternative version while "Hepatic tissue fermentation" was a brand new track. "Genital grinder II" has a midpaced tempo and heavy riffage bringing in mind the Disattack crust legacy while "Hepatic.." is a piece of old school midpaced grindcore with some outbreaks here and there. Both tracks are in the vein or brutal grindcore of "Reak of.." era the metal orientated of you surely know and both tracks appear in "Wake up and Smell the... Carcass" comp. An alternative version of ""Hepatic.." appears in "Tools of the trade" ep
Carcass lyrics(and that kind of lyrics in general) were always a minus to me . Lyrics are important but what the hell,its only one track of a rare boot and there's no change to understand a single word of "Hepatic.."'s growls and apart from the gory wankerology there is no any racism or sexism bullshit
The cover is pretty sick and probably one of the first medical cover artworks, the main idea is somehow the same with the artwork of first lp of Greek political crusties Naytia, check it here

"Pathological" lp came out on vinyl, cd and tape, each release had totally different cover,Pathologian Records was a label owned by Kevin Martin, a guy who booked the first Godflesh concerts in London and later worked with Justin Broderick in many projects..

Mob 47-War victim 7" (bootleg)

Here's a Mob 47 ep but no the eponymous classic one we all know and love: "War victim" is a bootleg released by Spasmoparapsychotic Records and delivers 9 tracks plus one bonus untitled track.
well, i don't have to say not a fucking single word about the band: Having release only one record (splits,posthumous discogs and boots don't count,ok?) and having affect so many bands with their d-beat mangel, is the answer about how great they are.
Spasmoparapsychotic Records is a Montreal Canada based label run by one of Krush members. "War victim" was released in 1994 and 1-9 tracks are taken from "Ultrahuset Massacre" (1986) and "Racist Regime" (1986) bootlegs. Snutjarter is Snutjävlar,misspelled. According to the excellent shit-fi review of "Ultimate Attack..", the bonus track is a faster version of "Poor fools", a Crudity track (Tommy from Crudity later sung in Mob 47). Side a tracks are taken from "Racist Regime" and side b from "Ultrahuset..", (both boots included in the "Ultimate Attack.."), originally appear on the legendary 1st demo called "hardcore attack" with Mentis the original vocalist (thanx Jeff!).
I don't want to keep it short but i m tired and there 's nothing more to say, so check this Shit-fi text about the mysterious bonus track:"The bonus track is definitely the Crudity song “Poor Fools,” but for years I’d wondered if it were Mob 47 playing it. This is a fine distinction since the two bands shared members and were contemporaneous. My guess is that the version on the bootleg 7" is actually just a slightly sped-up version of the Crudity original (which has been previously bootlegged on 7" and also appears on the “Stockholms Mangel” 2xLP). Crudity do sound somewhat like a slower Mob 47, so it’s a believable ruse. Any other theories out there?"
