Senseless/Sirup za Izkašljevanje-split 7" (1999,Abnormal Beer Terrorism)

Its been a while since the last post and a lot of shit happened here:The general strike and protest of May 11th ended up in riot and clashes with cops, riot police acted brutally, a protestor were beaten to death by riot cops and he's still in coma in emergency chamber in hospital, another protestor had a surgery operation to save his life because of spleen rapture (prbly caused by glob hits), many other protesters were injured. On the other hand an outbreak of racial hatred and pogrom against immigrants took place after the murder of a 44 years old man, a few hours later a man from Banglasdesh was stabbed to death, many other immigrants were beaten by neo nazis, they even attacked against Villa Amalias Squat. An attack against Exarcheia Police Station injured a street market vendor. All these and many other shits happened and in a few words, Athens down town became a battle field in a collapsing state which is in free falling and decline and plagued by IMF. Now about this split: This gem was kindly offered by the cool guy of Crucified Freedom blog and since i don't know anything about the bands almost everything is blatantly stolen from his post: Senseless were from Croatia and Sirup za Izkašljevanje from Slovenia, the split came out in 1999 by a Slovenian label called Abnormal Beer Terrorism in co-operation with both bands. Senseless were from the city of Požega in eastern Croatia, (foolishly, for a moment i thought they were Nonsense another noisy act from Croatia), they had a split cd with Pro Masa and shitload of split tapes with bands such as Mastic Scum, Dickles Tracy, Sequimos Aqui, Panic Overdose and others, this split was their only vinyl release and band members were also involved in other great bands of Croatian scene. There is no much info about the Slovenian crusties S.Z.I. ,according to KKTZ of mighty Corpus Delicti who was member of Senseless, S.Z.I. had a demo tape.
the split came out in 530 copies, Senseless bring four tracks of heavy crustcore with some metal influences, sometimes brutal and sometimes emotional while S.Z.I. deliver five crust songs in similar vein but a little more fast-straightforward. Vocalists sing in English and Croatian, sound is raw and dissent, and the whole thing last over thirteen minutes.

Need to take a break

For some reasons of my own i need to stop updating the blog for some time. The lazy puppy in the picture doesn't mean boredom, i had to put some pic there, i put it cos is cute and lovely. Well, there are some reasons that will keep me busy, some of them are easy but others a bit hard. There will be no free time in the next weeks, there will be some hard working in summer heat, then i have to travel far from home for some weeks during the July (no,its not holiday), on the other hand this financial crisis is getting worse (i hope only it will not make me cancel my internet connection to save some money) and mood is bad as shit. Right now i can't tell when 7inchcrust start to roll again, hopefully in the end of next month or so, there is a pile of old 7"s waiting for their turn but have to wait for some time.

Anti State-When corporations rule the world 7''

I know only a few shit about Anti State: they were a hardcore band from Portland, they were active around 1998/2000, they released two ep's on Gasmask Records: When Corporations rule the world and a split w Estado de Paz, members went on with Moral Hazard, i don't know if these two releases are the complete Anti State discog, please write some lines in you know anything. Gasmask Rec.s was a small label based in Portland, it is not related with the myspace'd labels with the same name and back in early '00's they released records of Axiom, Anti State, Moral Hazard and Chupacabra.
"When Corporations..." was recorded in summer of 1998 and was released the same year (not sure about this), it comes in gatefold cover with a political text related to record's title and lyrics printed inside and a twelve page booklet including an excerpt from Michael Moore's book "Downsize this!" from 1996 and detailed explanation of lyrics. Lyrics wise the band has done some great work, interesting and informative enough it can make you sit down and read it. Music wise it delivers five tracks of rough and dark hardcore with tempo changes from midpaced parts to fast outbreaks and dual shouted vocals, sometimes they sound like a dark and crusty version of MDC (there's an anti-McDonland's song here ('Vile horrendous McCrap' dealing the same shit with 'Corporate Deathburger')


ps: General strike paralysed Greece yesterday (05/5) and the protest in Athens turned into battle. Riots broke up and demonstrators tried to enter the parliament, three people who were employees of a bank are dead after protestors attack against the bank, (a bank employee witness the lack of fire safety mechanisms in place and other shit made by bank management). Many cars and buildings were burnt, many people were arrested. Government and a right wing party tried to speculate by accusing left wing parties for encouraging riots,media named anarchists as murderers, Exarcheia Square and anarchist social centers were raid by the police,This was the first huge protest against the new austerity measures of neoliberal financial policy driven by IMF and EU...
Greek gov. voted the new austerity measures today (06/5) incl. rise of taxes, pension and wage cuts and some new shit about education and insurance system as well while some new measures are in the works for the near future. Days of December 2009

One year after Alexis murder and the following revolt, Greece is in turmoil again . One year before, politicians and journalists, their mental servants, all together in an orchestrated symphony of lies tried to prove that was just meaningless violence and not a revolt.
One year later protestors are back and the fresh new social-democratic gov unmasked the true face behind the liberal rhetoric:Raiding a anarchist social centre and Keratsini occupied Town Hall as well, transpassing the academic asylum and arresting people, apart from police brutality a new way of terror arose: More than 800 protestors were taken to police department just to be identified (and recorded in police files). Riots broke out in several cities(here and here), media and politicians played their role again.

Cerecloth-Encrusted in an oaken legend 7"
Cerecloth (pronounced "seer-cloth") was a shortlived band from Middlesbrough and a well kept secret of UK's underground scene, they were formed by the guitarist of obscure deathsters Malediction in early '90's and in 1992 they recorded the Godless passages demo tape, one year later they released Encrusted in an Oaken Legend on GWB Records and this is their one and only official release.
The cover artwork is close to the usual crust artwork, music wise this is an amazing blending of Morbid Angel's technical death metal ,Skyclad's metal folk riffs and flute tunes of Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull). Guitar is sick and heavy and enriched by Darren O'Hara's skills, delivers tons of tormenting riffs while rhythm section is in the same level. The similarities with Morbid Angel are obvious (the opening riff of Beautiful Lying Faces is a page taken from Morbid Angel's book) and some slower emotional parts with flute work really nice.
Honestly, i didn't know the existence of this band until the day i discovered this treasure in Wood'sman Axe blog, many thanks to Balbulus who kindly let me post this for you

Police murders a 15 years old kid

This is politics and its about whats happening right now here, if you don't care just skip it..
2008:December 6, Athens: Alex Grigoropoulos 15 years old was murdered by cop of special police guard who shot him in the chest near the heart. There are eye witnesses telling that Alex Andreas and his friends didn't provoke the cops and they shot with no reason. The murder was followed by a riotous night in Athens, Thessaloniki and other cities all over the Greece. In Sunday 7 December the protest in Athens turned into riot that still continues with more burnt banks, cars and stores. In Monday 8th, demonstrations of pupils attacked against police departments in several cities all over the country, The demonstration in Athens turned into riot once again with dozens of burnt cars and buildings (stores, banks, hotels). This is a kind of Greek LA '92 or Paris 2006 and not only a reaction against police:A social revolt of people oppressed by government's financial policy and unemployment and outcasts who live in poverty and found a way to express their frustration and rise the blind hate and wrath


Alex is not the only victim of police brutality who paid the price with his life, there is a long list of murder, torture and humiliation, Alex was just 15 years old, he was unarmed, he didn't attacked the cops to excuse a violent reaction from police, he was just a kid..right now while i m typing this, media tell about more riot in Athens and Thessaloniki.. tonight is going to be a restless night..

reports are hilarious: Alex never tried to throw a petrol-bomb at the police car (there are eye witnesses proving that) and Exarheia square is not an anarchist state inside the Greek state, it is a place full of riot squads and police patrol 24/24.

Artimus Pyle-st 7"
If you are still here...this text bellow was written yesterday before the tragedy happens, check it if you want..:
I don't really have to say much on this since the web is full of resources and you already know these dudes: Artimus Pyle was born from the ashes of Fuckface in late 90's and they have released until now several records spreading their brutal hardcore/crust
The s/t ep was released by Life is Abuse back in 1998 and delivers five pieces of raw hc/crust , songs are short, brutal and heavy, mostly fast in-to-your-face parts reaching the limits of chaotic crust, then they slow down with some slower passages, the vocalist screams desperately the dark and bitter lyrics, the production is decent, the whole thing is a heavier destructive and tuned down of Fuckface's stuff. The vinyl is in sick blue/gray color, side b is one track divided in two parts, "Paint it black" has nothing to do with Rolling Stones and (and according the band's notes) the lyrical content of it was written by a San Francisco homeless and was found in garbage.
The hairy guy on back cover is Thomas Delmar Pyle (a.k.a. Artimus Pyle) drummer of Lynard Skynard and survived the plane clash that killed some of Skynard members

First off something for grindcore maniacs: Necro salvation was one of the very first posts of blog, it was released in 1989 by Rigid Records,foldout sleeve, light green vinyl,re-released by No System Records with different artwork and some misprint on tracklist. "Blindspot" was recorded in the infamous Morrisound Studios with Chris Barnes (Cannibal Corpse "fame") as special guest in "Infanticide" (to be honest can not dig any difference to the rest "vocals" of record..) and was the limited edition ep for Assuck's European tour, it came out in 1992 on Sound Pollution it was included in "Anticapital & Blindspot" CD. "State to state" was released one year later by SOA Records with four tracks from "Anticapital" covering side a while side was covered by a spoken word
Thats the shit about Assuck, oh i forgot it: There is also their "Born backwards" demo tape from 1988 including some tracks that appeared in "Necros-salvation".

State of Fear-Wallow in squalor
This the first wave of reposts,coming up some classics (Amebix, Hellbastard, Antisect, Deviated Instinct) and later some other stuff (Nausea,Ekkaia, Disaffect, some Disrupt etc.),Next up is another post from the very first days: 'Wallow in squalor' by State of Fear was released in 1996 1995 by Profane Existence. The 5800 copies of several pressings were sold out and it is long out of print. Six tracks of cruststcore with influences from the Swedish scene and strong political lyrics. Profane Existence released SoF's discography in 2004 including their two ep's and the lp.Nothing more to say..

Scatha-Fuck the system
Scatha's 'Fuck the system' is too classic to stay with no link. Scatha formed in Tomintoul,a village in the Aberdeenshire Council Area, Scotlan, by former Sedition, Dissafect and Stretcheads members. "Fuck the system" was released in 1997 on Anonymous/Enslaved Recs and it was a piece of dark crust with poetic pagan lyrics, The band released also a split w Dagda and two lp's:"Respect, Protect, Reconnect" (1996,Flat Earth) and "Birth, Life and Death" (1998,Flat Earth). "Before The Dust Settles" is a internet compilation of demo and rehearsal recordings available for free downloading in Scatha's myspace while "After the Dust Settles" is their discography cd on MCR Company. Check their myspace, there is a brief biography, reviews of their records and a photo flash where you can see the how the punks on the back cover of this ep turned into crusties :)

Corrupted/Sloth-split 7"
Here we go again with another repost, a Corrupted repost kindly requested by Luc(A)s. Its the "Corrupted/Sloth-split and Anciano" ep, both links were removed, removed not deleted: Both records were posted in summer and autumn '07 and were removed due to our new policy of removing old links: We don't want this blog to be a data base of mp3's but an active and interactive webpage with people contributing information, discussing and telling their opinion or whatever. But if there is a request for a particular record, it will be re-posted as soon as possible.
Sloth/Corrupted split was released by Sloth label, there were two pressings of 100 copies each, with different cover artwork and orange vinyl for the first pressing (black vinyl for the 2nd). One noisy track for Corrupted (a live session with Solamania (a noise music project of Masahiko 'Masaki' Ohno) and one slow and sick as hell track for Sloth.

"Anciano" was the first Corrupted record, its a piece of three doomy tracks (plus an intro) ,it was released in1995 by Overseas and was repressed four times with slightly different artwork and 500 copies for each repress. The phrase 'Horrible: El Tren Lo Partio En Dos!' on front cover is sometimes taken as the record title

Scraps-Apartheid 7"
This was requested by doom-warcrimes: Apartheid (Aaltrack Records) was the first official record of French drunk wasters Scraps from the city of Liile. It comes in a multi-fold-out cover with lyrics texts and consists the most chaotic tracks Scraps ever recorded. Check their discography here, there is also the "The Raw Years" cd released by Puke n Vomit Records including their demo and Apartheid" and "Aaarrghh" ep's plus the split w DONDON. Here some more infos,thanks to the guys who commented in the first post:
"Alcolos" = the alcoholics, the last track is an hymn to alcohol and alcoholics but you have to consider that, the singer David went on to sing for the Belgian political straight edge band Nations on Fire...
Tomoy, one of the bass players went on with Unhinged and other bands (Rood Arch, Amiante etc), there is a c-30 live tape that was put out in 1989, taken from a gig in Bredene/Oostende (be), home remastered and copied.

Time for some reposts and here's "Meaningful Consolidation" double ep from 1996 including some of the legends of Japanese scene of '90's: Iconoclast, Disclose, CFDL, Defiance, Anti-Authorize, Abraham Cross and S.D.S. contributed tracks and released this jewel in their own labels (Blurred/DIY/Icons of Crust/Forest /Yasuo). This is sometimes considered as Pt2 of Tokyo Crusties 7" comp from 1994 but this is not official Pt2. 25 minutes total running time full of japanese hc & crust



Dystopia-Backstabber 7"
This was posted in August 2007 but the old link is dead, so here it is again but this time we added scans of inserts and vinyl (Thanx to Price of Progress blog (R.I.P.). Dystopia are the masters of crust/doom/sludge from Oakland, Long Beach and "Backstabber" was released in 1997 in a co-operation of labels Life is Abuse, Misanthropic and Common Cause Records, it consists three heavy crust/sludge tracks, these tracks appear in the cd version of "The Aftermath" (1999).
