Turn on continuous framing camera control

You can set the Google Meet camera to automatically zoom in on all the meeting participants in a room. The camera doesn't zoom in on individual speakers. Seeing all the participants in the room up close makes it easier to:

  • Read facial expressions and body language.
  • Maintain eye contact with meeting participants.
  • Smoothly take turns in the conversation.

Before you begin

  • Continuous framing requirements:
    • Google Meet Compute System
    • One of the following cameras:
      • Google Meet Series One Smart Camera
      • Google Meet Series One Smart Camera XL
      • Logitech PTZ Pro 2
      • Logitech MeetUp
      • Logitech Rally
    • Note that the experimental autozoom no longer works with the Huddly Go
  • Connect all Google Meet hardware peripherals (camera, compute box, and touchscreen).

Enable the user setting for continuous framing

Continuous framing is enabled by default and visible to users on Google Meet Compute systems that meet the requirements. Users still need to turn on continuous framing when the meeting starts.

To make the continuous framing setting visible on devices where it was explicitly disabled:

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardware.
  3. Click the device you want to manage.
  4. Click the Device settings section to expand it.
  5. Click Edit "" next to Continuous framing.
  6. Check the box  to Activate continuous framing.
  7. Click Save.
The continuous framing option will now show up on the touch controller.
  8. To turn on continuous framing during a meeting, see Use the Google Meet touchscreen.
