Ok, to be fair to my man-baby ex, it's not all funko pops. He also has plastic figures of girls from anime and comic books that any woman would take as a sign to run as fast as fucking possible.
I lived with my ex for 6 months. I let him move in with me after he got laid off (lie) because he claimed he had enough savings to live off of if he could get out from under his own rent (lie). Living with a person can show how much of a deadbeat loser they actually are. I don't know how he got fired, but apparently, it was egregious enough that no company nearby would even interview him. I don't know what the fuck me or my parents were thinking about lending him money as well. seeing as he had sooooo much money saved,
I should have taken it as a sign from god himself when this idiot filled every closet in my apartment with at least 200 plastic toys. The first night sleeping in my room with the peanut gallery of dead-eyed marvel superheroes watching me sleep should have clued me in to the fact that I made the biggest mistake of my life by letting the world's largest baby move in with me. Over 6 months, he racked up over 12k in debt to me and my parents. All while he sat at home smoking weed and buying more plastic figures between all the job interviews he wasn't doing.
When I finally came to my senses and kicked him out, I told him to either pay me and my parents back immediately or else I was selling his toys. He did not take that well, but his other option was me and my parents suing the baby. He tearfully said goodbye to all of his toys and agreed to us selling them.
Yesterday, we sold the last of the funko pops. We got around 11.5k from the entire bunch. Not enough to cover his ass, but enough that we're not incentivized to deal with him anymore.
He asked about a week ago how it felt to be a soul-devouring monster kicking him while he's down.
I told him it felt great.
Edit:
Lmao, thanks for the laugh at all the people saying "respect the hobby." I knew he collected figures when I met him, albeit not to the extent his toy hoarding was at. I let him move in with all the figures, didn't I? I don't care what plastic figures you keep on your desk or shelves. You're not the man-baby who owed me and my parents 12 grand, are you? Collect whatever you want, I literally don't care what random Reddit user # 15667 collects as a hobby. No one does. Collect what you want or have whatever hobby you want. Just don't go spending other people's money on that hobby and you should be fine.
God, I try to make a funny rant about my ex, and people get offended that I made fun of him collecting plastic figures? Grow up and go outside or something lmao.

As the titles says, for the life of me I'll never understand the hype behind Funko Pops. I think figurines and action figures and the like are all really cool especially figures from anime or video games or even super hero action figures but Funko Pops are WILDLY popular and they to me at least have to be the most soulless and uninspired figurines I've ever seen. They have then spanning across every conceivable pop culture reference from pokemon to TV shows, ect and they all just look the same. Black beedy eyes, chunky square heads. I hate them and I'll never understand how or why people seem to be addicted to collecting them. Just get am actual figurine. Lol.
Their ridiculously huge heads are not cute and round black eyes are empty. The only reason why Funko Pops are popular is because they represent a huge variety of characters from different franchises and can please literally everyone, even though most of the time they don't even match the characters' moods. Some characters are impossible to guess at all and the only more or less pretty and detailed figurines are the rarest and expensive as hell. I would prefer not collecting any figurines than collecting Funko Pops.
