I feel like most schools have at least a couple guys who went pro with everyone expecting them to be the next big thing, only to see them become huge busts a few years in. Who are y’all’s biggest letdowns?

For me it's a tie between:

• Jake Delhomme ripping a hole in his pants against the Falcons in 2005 (ESPN had a good laugh about having to show partial nudity for the first time ever on their program about that one at the time).

• Both of the Grammatica brothers injuring themselves while celebrating meaningless FGs (which prompted Dennis Miller to hilariously say on a MNF broadcast back then "These guys have got to stop celebrating 25-yd FGs like it's VJ Day.")

• Gus Frerotte deciding to headbutt the wall for some bizarre reason when he was in Washington (like he actually chose to do this and I'm pretty sure he concussed himself doing it lol).

There are many great college players but only a fraction of them make it to the NFL, and only a fraction of that fraction become truly elite professional players. Who are the best guys from your school who went pro and became among the best of the best?

Now the context is very different since Cousins was a 5th rounder but if there's anyone that knows starting in the NFL as an older player isn't some kind of death sentence and all the nuances that come with that situation, it's Kirk. It's almost like the FO thought this through more than random redditors.

My understanding is that Drake Maye is the greatest single prospect in the history of American sport. A 3-sport athlete (the shortstop piece), 6’5” 245 (eventually) pounds of alpha male. When he, Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow eventually hang out, they’re tossing him the keys. They just are.

Buffalo Bills: Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C/G, Georgia

One of the sneakier needs the Bills had across their roster was along the interior offensive line. After moving on from former starting center Mitch Morse and key reserve Ryan Bates this offseason, the Bills were left with only Alec Anderson and Will Clapp as their primary interior backups. Getting a borderline Day 2 grade from Brugler and nearly cracking the Top 100, Van Pran-Granger enters the equation with potential to one day push for a starting job at either center or guard. If the Connor McGovern experiment at center does not go well in 2024, there could be an opening there. — Joe Buscaglia
