All posts should be related to Ireland, Irish people or be specifically relevant to Irish redditors or Irish culture. Posts which do not meet any of these criteria or which relate to Ireland only in passing may be removed.
Off-topic questions and advice requests should be posted on r/AskIreland. The mods reserve the right to waive this rule at our discretion.
Mods may remove posts which are deemed substandard or repetitive to maintain subreddit quality.

Any posts/comments that attack, threaten or insult a person or group, on areas including, but not limited to national origin, ethnicity, colour, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, social prejudice, and disability may be removed and the offending user banned.
Mods reserve the right to remove any targeted/unreasonable abuse towards other users and/or ban the offending user.
There is a zero tolerance policy for the promotion or suggestion of the use of violence against others.

As per Reddit policy - You can promote your blog/website, as long as it's a small part of what you do. Blatant spamming will not be tolerated. Posting photos of pets, landscapes, or candid photos belonging to you (or you have received consent to post) is not considered to be spam outside of any excessive posting.
Accounts may not post solely to advertise the sale of goods such as t-shirts, CBD stores, etc.
Surveys/Fundraising are not permitted.

Doxxing in any form is not tolerated. No Linking/Commenting to personally identifiable social media accounts or photographs of users without consent.
Posting of non-consenting explicit/sensitive media (inclusive of fight videos, public shaming) is prohibited. Mods will work with any legal requests submitted for poster information or otherwise in the event of a user uploading any content of this manner. Consent may not be garnered from individuals not of sound mind due to illness /intoxication.

This subreddit prohibits allowing for the speculation or rumours in an ongoing criminal case or investigation, to the point where it may be argued that the dissemination of rumours or speculation could influence, or collapse any ongoing court cases or trials.
Articles posted by registered news outlets may be posted without editorialisation - but any comments made to further fuel any speculation on unsubstantiated, or otherwise non-reported issues will be subject to removal and result in bans.

Participating or instigating in-thread drama/flame wars is prohibited on the sub. If you have a problem with a thread/comment, message the mods AND report it too.
When reporting In-thread drama please do so via Modmail, do not drag mods into user drama; there are procedures in place to engage mods. Tagging mods or other users in these situations will be deemed as User-targeting/harassment.

As a general rule, political content outside of major newsworthy events (such as ongoing electoral news) should be limited to one post per day per user at most.
Additionally, users should not post or comment on r/Ireland solely to promote a political agenda, e.g. only posting excessively right- or left-wing news stories, or trying to garner or organize support or funds for a cause or movement.
Accounts suspected of participating solely to promote a political agenda will be banned.

Duplicate threads/posts made within a short period of time will be removed, with the oldest thread/post being kept intact.
Note that this is not intended for use against "reposts" of popular content/memes - this is intended as a measure against duplicate news articles and similar content.
In the event of another source reporting on a story, this source should be posted as a comment on the original news thread unless there is significant new/relevant information in the report.
