So all the lying is totally OPs fault too? 🙄
Sick of living in the United States? Want to leave America for a better life? This subreddit is devoted to thoughts and discussion about emigration from the US, how and why other countries are better, how you can leave, and expat/immigrant life once you've left.

Ooh I just saw this comment, sorry! I researched it a bit more and I have to speak to a lawyer first to verify if I’m correct, but I think the way it goes is I don’t need to get the certificate yet as I won’t need it until I apply for citizenship. I was going to start the visa process this summer, but some other legal proceedings (a name change after I became a widow) are taking longer than expected. So it’ll be around October of this year (2023) when I can start applying for the Visa to get to Spain and at that point I’ll ask if I need the certificate now or later for the citizenship application.
What do you mean “as an American or as a Puertorican”? If you mean citizenship, I’m both. If you mean residence, I currently live in the US but you can still do it from the US without living in P.R. currently or having property there.
this is a community like r/AmITheAsshole except unlike that subreddit here you can post interpersonal conflicts, anything that's AITA but is not allowed there even posting about Scar from the lion king and trying to convince redditors that he was not the AH. rules: don't berate others and no pornography we have children here

Ugh I hated when my husband used to do this. I’d be cooking dinner for our kids, he would grope ame and then get offended that I wasn’t immediately horny. Like dude! I’m cooking, have spit up on my shirt, and the kids are in the next room and you expect me to just suddenly be in the mood? That’s just not how my body works!!
I think it was after the 3rd time I explained this to him, making sure to use a calm and happy voice (like the one I would use to correct one of my kids’ math problems), he finally got it. He kept groping me, but no longer expected me to drag him off to our bedroom or anything. Sometimes when the kids weren’t around he would leave his hand on my ass and I would ask him if he was having fun and all nonchalant he’d say “yeah, I’m enjoying myself” 😆

Im bi and this is total BS. This is not a “bisexual” thing…this is a cheaters things. Unless you consent to her being non-monogamous, then it’s cheating. And cheaters all try to find a way to make excusable.

He wasn’t just venting, he was trash talking about his gf behind her back. ‘With a boyfriend like that, who needs enemies’ as the saying goes. He also views expensive items as superior to those that are done with love and sentiment, and that’s just a terrible quality. I get that not all homemade gifts are great, but that doesn’t mean you go behind your loved ones back and start talking crap ab them and their gifts.

NTA.
In the Hispanic culture we have two last names: our father’s last name and then our mother’s.
I married a white guy and in the US it was still the norm to only have your husband’s. It only took me a few years to regret not having hyphenated.
A year ago he died so I’m going back to my maiden name and I’m also changing my kids’ names to have both his last name and mine. Love him and miss him dearly, but I don’t want to keep his family’s name, but I still want to share a name with my children.
It’s YOUR name. And contrary to popular belief, you do not need his input on what your name is going to be. Tell him it’s your name and not his. If he doesn’t want to marry you and give you his last name in addition to yours then so be it. Tthis antiquated idea that our names belong to the men in our lives because we are women is complete BS.
Edit: for clarification

I love archaic words, but what the hell is a grown adult doing calling a 17yo child a harlot!?!? She’s the same type of person who gets caught on camera berating a teenager who is just trying to work at a fast food joint. Her poor children are going to need years of therapy to get past her BS
A catharsis for the frustrated moral philosopher in all of us, and a place to finally find out if you were wrong in an argument that's been bothering you. Tell us about any non-violent conflict you have experienced; give us both sides of the story, and find out if you're right, or you're the asshole. See our ~~*Best Of*~~ "Most Controversial" at /r/AITAFiltered!

I say this as a woman: don’t let her use her gender as defense; that’s complete BS. I would offer her some “smelling salts” since she’s apparently so sensitive 🙄.
She’s “jokingly” giving you hints that she wants you to go back to working out and she doesn’t like your “dad bod”. It’s the classic tale of “I can dish it out, but I can’t take it.” Honestly that tracks with her apparent dislike of your new body. She wants you to remain the perfect bod while making excuses for her lack thereof. She needs to pull her thong out of her ass.
Also, it’s only a joke if all parties involved find it funny, otherwise it’s just a mean comment.
