AC/DC are/were some diminutive people

I was watching the video for "You Shook Me All Night Long" the other day, and realized that Angus's Gibson SG looked REALLY big on him. I thought maybe he had a weirdly upsized signature model or something, or he was much tinier than I had ever really thought. I mean, they're titans in terms of stage presence. Well sir, I looked their heights up and no shit, they're pretty tiny people. Angus is 5'2". Malcolm is 5'3". Brian Johnson is 5'5" (Bon Scott was 5'8".) Not saying anything negative - I just thought it was pretty interesting.

Original frontman of AC/DC Bon Scott in 1979. He would have turned 77 today.

My aunt with Angus Young in the early 80’s. This was taken after she went out on stage with AC/DC and just kind of jumped around wearing the iconic schoolboy outfit.

Dolly Parton says her joining Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame would be like ‘Putting AC/DC in the Country Music Hall of Fame’

Article: https://variety.com/2022/music/news/dolly-parton-rock-hall-ac-dc-country-fame-1235207998/

On Thursday morning, Dolly Parton ventured into the belly of Fox News’ hotbed of propaganda and misinformation, “Fox & Friends,” in an attempt to set the record straight about her decision to decline her likely nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

“Well, I didn’t feel exactly right about that,” she said, while being interviewed on the show along with James Patterson, who co-authored her new book “Run, Rose Run.” “Because my perception, and I think the perception of most of America — I just feel like that’s more for the people in rock music. I’ve been educated since then, saying that it’s more than that, but I still didn’t feel right about it. It kind of would be like putting AC/DC in the Country Music Hall of Fame. That just felt a little out of place for me."

She also spoke about her decision to dedicate her appearance on the ACM awards to the people of Ukraine, even though she recently said she’d rather “pass a kidney stone” than be political.

“Well, that’s not political, that’s a humanitarian issue there,” she replied. “And I just knew we were all going to have a big time that night while all those poor people in Ukraine were suffering and misplaced and going through all kinds of hell. So, I felt it only right for me to say something about that.”

The Rock Hall has not yet commented on how it plans to handle the issue if Parton is indeed voted in.

TIL that the guitarist of AC/DC on their last world tour had to relearn the songs before each show as he was suffering from the early stages of dementia.

AC/DC is a terrible band and has no discernable reason for being famous.

AC/DC is a terrible band and has no discernable reason for being famous.

All their songs are grating, repetitive, uninspired, and sound almost identical to each other. They got really bad after Bon Scott died and got replaced by that screeching piece of shit who sounds like a chain-smoking deer being assraped.

If I wanted to psychologically torture someone, I could just pick any AC/DC song an play it on a loop for days until they went insane. If I played "shook me all night long" on a loop, the victim would claw out their own jugular within 6 hours.

TIL after AC/DC vocalist Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning, the band considered disbanding. Scott's parents requested that they not disband. So they hired Brian Johnson as their new frontman and made Back in Black, which became the second best selling album of all time
