Why the fuck isn't this on TV. Pisses me off I pay £100 a month and I can't watch even a Sunday game...

Tor Browser + Illegal Streaming is your friend

[–]mrmicawber32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do watch the streams, I just want it on my TV on HD with no effort for that much money.

Can't wait to watch some first-class sideways passing from Arsenal as Burnley set up two banks of four.

[–]d1strbdMartinelli 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Last time this fixture was played (albeit at home) I was there (live in Aus) Fingers crossed we get up more convincingly than that day lol

I did not play it smart and haven't had a sleep, watching f1 and playing fifa to keep me going until the start haha. I'm on a later start tomorrow anyway but have a 7 month old who i'm sure won't let me sleep in lol

I hope Iwobi plays like for his country!

Boys I have to be on a flight during this game, first one I'll miss all season 😭I hope I land to a 5-0 victory.

Big Lolo handball again would do me today.

He isn’t even on the bench, though.

Last 6 meetings are WWWWWW, with 12-3 GD. Burnley is in form now, but will beat them. I would blank sign a scrappy 0-1

      [–]PrinceofAmber7Mesut Fucking Ozil 1 point2 points  (1 child)

3-0, Arsenal. Burnley are good but not better then Arsenal. Their style of play has changed and they will leave more space then normal.

      [–]brishiRobert Pirès 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure they conceded 3 vs City. But besides that game they conceded 3 aggregated in 10 last games, including visiting Liverpool at Anfield and Shit at Wembley. It is gonna be hard to score even one I am afraid.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Prepare to be bored shitless. Slow sideways passing on the edge of the box with 11 men behind the ball. There is always the chance of a Burnley set piece finding it's way into the goal. I'm predicting 1-0 to Burnley.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If they play eleven in the box, just start shooting from outside the box and let deflections be your key. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely I hope that happens but Wenger apparently hates people shooting from outside the box.

        [–]James291189Tomiyasu is life 4 points5 points  (1 child)

A win today gets us in top 4 and 4 points off Utd going into next weeks game. Hopefully we can get a bit of a run going and maybe city will drop points over the xmas and new year period.

        [–]thehermitcoder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever, we get into such situations. we have managed to come up with an inexplicable performance.

        [–]thecescshow 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Spurs, Pool and Chelsea dropped points. The stage has been set for us to completely bottle it.

        [–]PrinceofAmber7Mesut Fucking Ozil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We won't be bottling anything, other then Burnley's tears.

        [–]_scholar_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great day or results for us yesterday. Today is all about job done, even if it's ugly.

        [–]nchristensen00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of those famous arsenal matched where we can frog leap some close competition with 3 points. A many fear, it will certainly not be as straight forward as we'd all hope

I am not sure what to expect other than a tough match. however, wenger better not get outclassed in terms of tactics and team selections ffs

        [–]gingerninja005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You would think this type of game is part of the reason we brought in Laca. Hopefully he gets on the scoresheet and shows that he has solved a problem for us.

        [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Win today and we go fourth. It's that simple. Burnley will be a tricky fixture but at the same time the Arsenal lads should be well aware that carrying the momentum from the sp*rs game into this one can put us in fourth.

        [–]alexis7sanchezGöat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Burnley are a good team. We can't lose this game though with Liverpool Chelsea and Sp*rs dropping points. A win would be very nice

        [–]peoplepersonmanguyØdegaard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the love of my OTW, Lacazette double please!

        [–]cptsteve21 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Would love if we could get 'em on an early goal and force them to come out swinging, would really give us the space to be able to play comfortably. The longer it goes, the better their shape can be and all that.

Burnley are no pushover and we were lucky (in many ways) to beat them last season. We've gotta really make sure to be sharp. I feel like this suits Lacazette as even if he only gets one or two sniffs he has the power and accuracy to make them count. REALLY hope he gets a full shot, even 80 minutes before being subbed out.

        [–]conceptkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im feeling confident. The boys are playing well.

[–]cxboyBig Dick Leno 6 points7 points  (1 child)

if we win we can get to 4th place. Need to grab our chances as these dont come often.

        [–]Cigano_Stu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what worries me. Typically, when we get chances from other results going our way, we somehow manage to fuck it up. Having said that, we're in decent form so I'm confident we'll get it done.

        [–]Kreator333 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Burnley were 8 matches unbeaten before they got beat by City, including a 1-1 draw with Spuds and Liverpool both away.

This isn't going to be a push over and a draw away wouldn't be a bad result going by there league form though we don't WANT a draw, we WANT a win due to results going reasonably in our favour today.

I think it will be 1-1, 2-2 but really we should be going all guns blazing for the win.

        [–]HakeemAbdulOlajubbar 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        Either 0-0 or 2-0.

We need to move the ball and switch play very quickly from the start. Move them around and obviously an early goal would be huge as it would force them to attack. Also need to stay focused defensively even if the entire game is in their half. Not outlandish to see us dominating for 89 minutes and them nicking one on a counter if were not careful.

        Same XI as against spurs.

Giroud on if it’s still 0-0 at 70 minutes.

        [–]PrinceofAmber7Mesut Fucking Ozil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO Giroud, Lacazette will get it done in 90 minutes. We've got multiple threats in regards to goal.

        [–]Gunnerstratz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The day before we played shit, somehow I felt confident. The day before we play Burnley I don't.

        [–]bvincent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If Burnley beat us tomorrow they will be in the Top 4 on merit above us, Liverpool and the Spuds.

request for the mods: Can you start putting the US Timezones in the pre-match posts as well?

        [–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Just remember the difference between two time zone, you can work it out pretty easily.

        [–]JoggingGodØdegaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I finally found an app that'll hopefully work.

[–]TestasticNeed another Cazorla 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Your request is pretty unreasonable. Why the US? What about people from other countries? There are also multiple timezones in the states. Just Google the match and it'll be shown in your local time. Search 'Arsenal' or 'epl'.

I personally use https://footballtabl.es as it allows me to easily access the ladders of all the top leagues and how long until each team's next match and who their opponents are, all shown on the same page.

        [–]JoggingGodØdegaard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize it would be, so apologies I came off like an ass.

I figured either someone puts in the times manually or there's some sort of automatic fill in from the schedule, so adding another couple time sections wouldn't be an inconvenience.

As for why the US time zones? a couple reasons.

        1. Given the results of that recent survey, there's a large section of US viewers. If I remember correctly , it was around 30% of survey respondents. Combine that with the 65% in the UK, and that's most of us on this sub. ( assuming the survey is representative of course ).

        2. Most of the time when I Google the starting times, the GMT time is the only one listed, even on U.S. sites, which is a pain in the ass. It's easier finding the times on the computer, but if I don't have access, it's a bigger pain in the ass.

        3. I've missed games because I've misread or failed to convert the times while remembering the game is on the next day, and I'm sure I'm not alone . (If a game is on at 12:30 gmt time, where I am for example it's 7:30 am start)...and unless there's a big match, Arsenal v Man U or something like that, the scheduling isn't shown on TV.

Those are my reasons, figured it would be a quick fix. Obviously I didn't realize what goes into that change, so again I apologize.

Also a big thank you to all the Mods for keeping this all running. This sub is the closest I've gotten so far to my fellow gooners so I really appreciate it, regardless of the timezones shown.

        [–]J4ckrhMorning, morning, morning... Oh, Win![S] 9 points10 points  (1 child)

        lol purrrfect.

        [–]limitz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

        Two possible outcomes:

        A. Burnley snatch a goal in the first half, and Arsenal need to get through a bus and a half. Likely 70% possession, indecisive shooting, waffling about in the middle 3rd, and ultimately a loss away. Everyone tunes into FanTV afterwords to watch Ty bitching.

        B. Arsenal score only to give up a late equalizer from either a penalty or set piece. Everyone tunes into FanTV afterwords to watch Ty bitching.

Outcome C. is a Win, but this is the Arsenal - failing to take advantage of dropped points by rivals is a tradition.

        [–]fuckimbackonreddit9Bambi Welbeck 38 points39 points  (9 children)

Spuds, Liverpool and Chelsea all drew and we can hop up to 4th with a win tomorrow. Now I’m really nervous for this match..

        [–]PrinceofAmber7Mesut Fucking Ozil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm slightly concerned but not nervous. We'll beat Burnley and we're off to win the league. ;)

        [–]AlGunner 16 points17 points  (7 children)

Id thought that, but the flip side is lose and we are 7th

        [–]fuckimbackonreddit9Bambi Welbeck 13 points14 points  (6 children)

And bright side is we win, go into 4th in front of Spuds. And we play Huddersfield next week which we should win, so if we put a string of three wins against Spuds, Burnley, then Huddersfield, we’re in a great position and full of confidence when we host ManU.

[–]HuhwtfblehGOATNelli Cult Member 2 points3 points  (5 children)

We can draw with Manchester United, they aren't as threatening as Manchester City from my point of view.

        [–]PrinceofAmber7Mesut Fucking Ozil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can slaughter United at home. Jose will park the bus and dig a moat around it.

        [–]ilovepinknips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fan of that happens I’ll be really happy. Fingers crossed.

        [–]fuckimbackonreddit9Bambi Welbeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather the 3 points tbh but I could live with a draw

        [–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

With Spurs dropping points and Chelsea and Pool playing each other it's imperative we win this game to keep our good run going

        [–]americanadiandrew 5 points6 points  (1 child)

This has frustrating draw written all over it. Although god help us if we go a goal down to their 11 man defence.

        [–]cptsteve21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A goal down... and a man down PL refereeing intensifies

If we don’t score within the first 15 minutes, then it’s going to be a painful game to watch. We need them to chase the game and open up their defence.

The Saturday 3pm is fine and makes sense - when I was living / working in the regions I would see league 2(at the time) Bristol rovers play when Arsenal was not being televised - so it does clearly promote lower league football. However for me this match is completely absurd ... with all the many fans in the UK of arsenal and even bloody Burnley, you’d think there’d be money in showing it on TV..

        [–]DansSpamJavelin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The 3pm kickoff blanket ban isn't actually based on any research or evidence, it was very much just one blokes opinion at the time and it's stuck since then. Really frustrating because 3pm Saturday is a great time to sit down the pub with a couple of beers and some shit food watching football with your mates, and there's no way I'm going to the mad stad because Reading are shit.

        [–]trebro49 49 undefeated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incidentally it was the chairman of none other than.... Burnley FC

And agreed. 3pm is basically the perfect time for saturday daytime drinking

        [–]tipytopmain 0 points1 point  (1 child)

from what I understand, sky paid for a fixed amount of fixtures they're gonna televise for the season. and they probably have it already planned out for the whole season so they give every team enough televised matches and not be too favouring towards the bigger teams and end up running out of fixtures they paid to televise. this stuff happens. I just wish the FA or someone could figure something out so all matches are easily watchable otherwise illegal streams will only grow more important.

        [–]trebro49 49 undefeated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s strange - surely BT / ITV could just buy the excess fixtures ? Agree with you on the last part, but can’t see it changing

I've come to hate playing Burnley just as much as I hate playing Stoke. Only difference is I actually like Burnley as a club.

They play a very simple, direct and extremely frustrating style that is perfect for nullifying us.

If we can pull off a win at Turf Moor I will be over the moon. As it is I'm doubtful we will come away with anything more than a point.

          [–]oli44Style & Steel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Stoke were a dirty team before Hughes and Shawcross split Ramsey in two.

          [–]illusiveabESR 5 goals 12 assists 2021-2022 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Their GF/GA is respectable as is their overall record but I think you have to be more optimistic than this. It's Burnley. TM is no defensive fortress as they are 5/2 there. They are a decent side but all it will take is one goal to get us in gear and we'd run them. That first goal is really the deciding factor.

          [–]hangaram -1 points0 points  (0 children)

          • 1 -1 OR 1-0. Current Burnley is anti-football. Hope we win it, but think it will be tough

          • We all know which will be our best 11 already.

          • Laca will be the key against Burnley. Against Swansea, he was pretty useless in the first half. All of them were under half-line & only used counter-attack against us. I think this game will be very similar game for us. Laca should show some moments in this game. I think he is doing well overall, but needs to stpe up like this game.

          • Current form of Giroud is bad. So, I doubt we will use him if we lead 2 goals ahead of them. But, I will be surprised if we score 2 goals against them.

          [–]mediocritymaestro 8 points9 points  (3 children)

I'm still just holding out for another Xhaka 30 yard screamer. If they park the bus why not let the man twat a few from out there.

Also I would like to see Jack & Giroud sub for Ozil and Alexis. I want to see if Laca can play some top qualitee Wengerball with those 2 for a bit.

          [–]ProstetnicVogonJelzPatrick Vieira 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Yeah I want to see Wilshere even tho he wasn't great midweek. Let him shake it off and get some premier league minutes

          [–]mediocritymaestro 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I think he would do far better with better teammates around him.

          [–]boxlifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]OstapBenderBeyPetition to bring back the yellow and blue away kit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Realistically, we need to go on a good run of form now to not run a huge risk of failing to get top 4 at the end of the season. We're already slightly off the pace and it seems likely Ozil, if not Alexis too, will leave in the new year. Hopefully the team is settling and can keep up the level of football.

            [–]Quilpo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way we play is a lot more reliant on the way we actually play and the players that start than the nominal formation.

We play with two CBs and a spare man, when other teams play it they have 3 CBs - ostensibly the same formation but a different way of playing it.

            [–]Ugoboy23 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Conte used the same formation week in, week out last season. The 343 is a good formation for a team like Burnley anyway imo. We can spread them out with our wingbacks and also be secure at the back for their counter attack, which we know they are going to try to do.

Also can the match happen before you say Wenger won't show flexibility. He already said this week that we'll have to play differently against Burnley.

If we were to play the same way we did against Tottenham, we might be able to win comfortably.

If not, let's hope Lacazette isn't called out for a micrometre offside.

Burnley won't play the football against us.

There is no way we will play same way against them honestly..

My prediction is we’ll win 2-0 thanks to some skill from the AOL trio. Hope to see Welbeck play, maybe Iwobi.

Otherwise no players (bar the kids) from that Cologne team should be starting or threatening to replace a starting player.

Fully expecting a frustrating game where we struggle to break Burnley down and a thread later in the week where everybody disregards Zaha's credentials to play for Arsenal

Nah. We can disregard his credentials now.
