1 week ago I posted in this sub that I had just accidentally quicksold my 89 Michael Ballack on the web app while clicking through “send to my club” on a number of players. It was totally my fault (though man it’s so easy to do accidentally on the app if you have a couple seconds of lag) but seeing as how probably 60%+ of my coins were tied up in Ballack it was primed to ruin my entire FIFA year.

Well at the advice of some people on the sub I called EA and politely explained the situation. They took down some details and told me if I was making a false claim they would ban my account. The whole thing took about five minutes and they said they would follow up via email at a later date. How long? They didn’t know. It would be referred to a specialized team.

So yeah, I didn’t have much hope. Especially when the Icon 3 and Sancho SBC errors happened last week. I was sure this would be buried and lost forever. A week went by...nothing.

Well today I logged in to a nice surprise. I had one unassigned item, which I figured would be a RB > RWB card from some daily objective that I forgot to claim yesterday. But low and behold, it was a brand new 89 Ballack! What a relief.

So to anyone who has had a similar issue don’t lose faith! Some tips:

• Speak to someone in person, the chat wasn’t very helpful initially.

• Be polite and be patient. Even if it was EA’s fault it wasn’t the service reps fault—they are trying to help.

• Remember any details about the card you can. Did you buy it now? Auction? Was it packed? How much did you pay? Exactly when did you quicksell it?

• Make sure you keep enough coins in your account to cover the return of the sale. They will take the coins back. (In the case of 89 Ballack the 106,800 discard amount.)

• Lastly, don’t call back to check in unless you’ve totally lost hope. When you do it will reset your case and start it over. Just wait it out.

EDIT: lots of people asking for the phone number. There isn’t a way to call them per se, but depending on the help “topic” you select there is an option to have them call you instead of using the chat. Unfortunately “Missing Content” isn’t one of the topics with a call option. I don’t remember exactly which one I ended up using, but keep selecting different topics until you find one that allows for the phone option. They called me literally within seconds when I selected that option. It’s actually pretty convenient if you can navigate there.
