I'm just starting the second season on my Everton manager mode. I picked up Giovani Dos Santos at the very start in return for Eto'o and a couple million. I figured he'd be a solid, younger partner for Lukaku. By the end of the first season he had grown to an 82, and was looking like a pretty good purchase, but nothing spectacular.
My season ends, and at the start of my second, during the transfer window, Monaco comes along and offers me $97.5 million in return for Dos Santos. I WAS IN SHOCK, considering his value was around the $20 mil mark. I immediately accepted, jumping in celebration that Monaco was willing to so outrageously overpay for my solid, above average 26 year old striker.
I simulated a few days, and noticed that the transfer confirmation email had yet to come. About a week later, I received an email saying that the transfer bid was rejected, because Giovani Dos Santos is too loyal to Everton to just leave. TOO LOYAL TO FUCKING EVERTON?!? YOU'VE BEEN HERE FOR ONE FUCKING SEASON!! FUCK YOU AND YOUR FUCKING LOYALTY YOU PIECE OF SHIT!! I HAD A TEAM WILLING TO OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPAY FOR YOUR SORRY ASS, BUT YOU'RE TOO LOYAL TO LEAVE?!?
I figured since Monaco was willing to pay that much for Dos Santos other teams would too. I got about 3-4 offers from other clubs, but the highest anyone was willing to go was 29 million, so I decided to keep him. I could have bought Gotze or Bale or Hazard with the money I made.
