Mods- fuck off, seriously. Leave this post up. We have multiple dedicated player threads after literally every match. It was Santi, Kos, and Coq on the weekend. They were on the front page, and they brought tons of conversation. Nobody is trying to dig through 1,000 posts in a post match thread when they're trying to actually discuss a topic. So quit fucking deleting this post.

I believe this deserves its own discussion, so please don't remove this post. All I've seen for the last year+ around here is how Ospina is a fantastic keeper, he's just a rung below world class, we're lucky to have him, he's one of the 3-4 best backup keepers in Europe, and he deserves to start for a Champions League side.

Now that he's starting for us in the CL today everyone is trashing the decision and acting like he's shit. I get the outrage and incredulity at the midfield pairing, at the Ox starting while Walcott is MIA (edit- apparently Theo is hurt), but dudes- Ospina is really good. Have a little faith. That, or stop talking about how great he is just to change your mind as soon as we actually call on him.

Oh and by the way, I would personally love for Ospina to get the first crack at being Cech's replacement down the road. A free, in-house replacement of his caliber is absolutely ideal. I already feel fortunate that he hasn't gone anywhere else when he legitimately could be staring for a CL side. If we want to keep him (which we clearly do) then we have to show faith in him and give him his chances. I believe in Ospina, and I want him to stay. If that means backing him vs PSG I've got no problem with that.
