A friend of mine - I'll call him Brent as that's his real name - was watching late-night TV with his then-girlfriend (now wife) about 20 years ago (post-Seinfeld) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus was a guest. The host asked her what happened on her worst date and she started in, "Well, I was in college at Northwestern..." [here Brent thinks, "Interesting, I went to Northwestern"]... "and I had met a guy at a party and he asked me out and we met at [restaurant name] the next week.." [Brent says aloud, "Interesting, I've been to that restaurant a bunch of times"]... "and we just didn't click, he was asking me a lot of questions, and it was just awful. Then he said he had tickets to see the Stray Cats at a nearby club. And I wasn't a fan..." [Here Brent perks up, considers the timeline, and says, "Holy shit. That was me. I had met this girl at a party at Northwestern, we were drunk, I got her number, we met for dinner sometime after and it was not a good date but I had these tickets to see the Stray Cats and, well, it just wasn't a great date. I only knew her first name which I promptly forgot but now I realize... it was Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I was her worst date! And, frankly, she was one of my worst dates."
So, more than twenty years after the fact, and having been a big Seinfeld fan, he had never realized that he had been on a date with JLD. It took the random event of watching a late-night talk show to realize he was JLD's worst date. Funny.
Since this sub doesn't allow image submissions, I had to link it in a text post. Sorry if it breaks any rules :/
