Hey guys,
Sorry if i sound dumb but considering this as few years old game, should i still buy this? I am not a gamer but I would like to peacefully build a city with good eco. Been watching too many youtube videos about such games. Also what about the other anno versions like 1404? which of all these are best and fun?

A city builder well worth visiting.

As seventh entry in the series, Anno 1800 plays to all the strength of its predecessors and adds even more content. Some of those additions may be a little off, but in overall this may be the strongest classic Anno title yet.

It's easy to see why Anno was so well-regarded by its fans. If Anno 1800 is at all representative of its peers, I could grow to regret not getting into the series sooner.

The foundations of Anno 1800 are solid, and the game offers a diversified experience. Going back to the roots was a crucial decision, and I can say, with all certainty: this is one of the best strategy games of 2019. It’s been a long while since we had such a lovely and absorbing game to play.

Anno 1800 might be the best 4X game since Civ 6 and definitely has brought back the series' glory.

Anno 1800 nails its gameplay loop with aplomb while adding plenty of new features to expand it further. From the grand aesthetic to the rich atmosphere and gameplay depth, Blue Byte's latest is a return to form for the franchise.

Anno 1800 successfully delivers a fantastic city management game worthy of the dozens of hours you will most likely put into it.

Will satisfy your strategy game hunger.

Anno 1800 is a great example of mixing tycoon, diplomatic and warfare gameplays. It offers a simple and deep gameplay at the same time.
- -
Despite an annoying story mode, Anno 1800 is the biggest and best entry in the series to date.

Anno 1800 is a return to Blue Byte and Ubisoft's long-running city-building franchise. Sadly, a number of flaws prove to be detrimental to an enjoyable voyage.

A vibrant snapshot of the Victorian era that's bustling with character, but doesn't explore the intriguing, seismic politics of the period.Robert Zak

Anno 1800 brings its hybrid of city-building, trade, and diplomacy to the Industrial Revolution with a show of technical brilliance, but it's hindered by a cumbersome interface and other quality-of-life issues.

Anno 1800 brings back the serie to the roots and it is one of the best episodes.

Anno 1800 is a rich city-builder with a staggering amount of depth. Although the tutorials could be clearer and more detailed, there's an impressive and addictive game here for those willing to give it the requisite time and patience.

A gorgeous-looking, extremely polished city builder that offers a relaxed experience with light RPG, diplomatic and combat elements.

AMA ENDED
Hello everyone,
We always knew our community loves asking questions and share their feedback and suggestions for the game and future content. With Season 3 starting and its first DLC already releasing tomorrow, the number of questions just kept increasing - so, this week seems like a perfect opportunity to host an AMA here on the Anno subreddit (Which fairly recently celebrated reaching 30.000 Annoholics! Congratulations once more!)
Who is “we”? Well, we’ve assembled a dream team from various departments of the Anno 1800 development team!
– Lead Programmer
– Narrative Designer
– Game Designer
– Development Tester
– UI Designer
Tim (Lead Artist) + Carsten (Senior Artist) (we'll forward any art questions to them ;) )
- Senior Level Artist
– Brand Manager
– Community Developer
From today till Friday we’ll be answering as many questions as we can, so keep em coming and we’ll get to them eventually :)
So, ask us anything! You can just post your questions below or, of course, direct them to a specific person or department.
Have a great week, we’re looking forward to your questions!
EDIT: Wow, you all really have some questions :P The week is coming to an end and so does this AMA. We're happy so many of you not only took but also enjoyed the opportunity to ask your questions in this thread over the last days.
You're of course welcome to continue asking us questions here and across all our other channels. And there's a good chance we'll repeat an AMA like this one in the future.
Thank you and stay safe!

I have played and love Anno 2070. I never gave 1800 a serious look. However now I'm thinking about getting it while on sale on the ubisoft store. I've watched some videos on it and it looks awesome.
I'm worried about the support, I heard rumors of a new Anno game coming next year? So should I just wait? Or get the game and play now?

Ok ok well maybe not just for Anno 1800 but, who am I kidding, Anno is the priority.
I'm building a new PC from scratch and I want to ensure that it will run Anno 1800 spectacularly: highest graphics, smooth performance, minimal crashes.
How would you go about this?

The island inhabitants are so beautifully written that even when they lack goods or are happy, they express themselves in the most suitable manner for their personality. I know someone made a similar post a few months ago, but I would like to hear more profound quotes from your island inhabitants.
My favorite is when the Investor residence lacks some goods: "Adequate, but lacks finesse." And also in Enbesa, when the factories there lack in goods. "Only God can create from nothing". It fits them so well.
What is your favourite line and why?

I'm a kid that wants to get into Anno 1800 after watching a couple of hours of Nivarias' videos. It's currently on sale in the Steam workshop but I don't quite have enough money yet, so I'd have to save until the next discount (whenever that is). So, I was wondering if it would be worth it. I enjoy colony simulators that require a lot of micro-management, and Anno seems to fit that description.
