Title. There are an incredible number of consumer products that have been tested on animals, as well as countless life saving drugs. Although it’s sad that we have to use another organism to determine the safety of products, it is the best way to understand how a developing concept will preform in the real world. It can provide extremely valuable insights on potentially overseen faults in concept design and in the end save human lives.
Note, if you are unfamiliar with product testing on C. elegans (a type of worm) you should definitely take a look because it’s really interesting.

Ok so right off the bat I’m going to seem like a bad guy but hear me out for one second. Everyone is so quick to play white knight and say “oh I’m so against animal testing” and thats fair until you realize those same people are picky on which animal should suffer and which should not. Think about crows. If someone ran over a crow they would most likely go “dang that sucks” but imagine they run over a puppy. Its a whole different story. Same thing with bug spray and chemical testing. How come a poor bunny shouldn’t be tested on but insects are given horrible deaths and/or tested on them selfs? Its because we can’t empathize with bugs. Bugs are gross and small. “If I can’t see it’s suffering i don’t care” logic is used by everyone but not everyone knows it. And until we care about the suffering of all creatures I’m not going to choose one just because other people do as well.
A place to read and share positive and uplifting, feel good news stories.
