Ancient Apocalypse: is there any reputable support for Ice Age civilizations?

Netflix just dropped Ancient Apocalypse, where a journalist goes around the world in a scuba suit to try and prove that there were civilizations around during the last Ice Age. His main point is that Atlantis was around during the Ice Age and submerged when the sea levels rose… and then they spread civilization everywhere so it gets into some weirder territory. The scuba journalist shows a bunch of clips from his interview on Joe Rogan, so obviously I’m taking all of this in with a critical lens. He’s got some great footage though and crafting some believable narratives, so I started googling. I haven’t found anything about it on any reputable sites. I’m guessing my Atlantis dreams are dashed but I wanted to see if the good people here can shed any light on the likelihood that the hominids around during the last Ice Age were more advanced than hunter gatherers.

What song would you play before an ancient apocalypse happens?

Doing a one-shot with my players where they're 20th level epic heroes of the ancient elvish civilization - on the Day of Wrath, the day when the elves lost their war against the group of demigods they were fighting and their homeland was annihilated and turned into a barren wasteland.

Their role, as these ancient heroes, is to fight a valiant rearguard battle as a spell is cast that shifts some of their people/homeland into the Feywild so that some part of their civilization might survive, a "fling a light into the future" last stand destined to end in a heroic TPK (which they know).

The overall feel of the campaign is...

...okay, let's not mince words, we're anime as fuck?

The campaign is heavily inspired by classic Japanese RPGs like Tales of, Final Fantasy, etc and we lean into the aesthetic - we have opening/ending themes, and I enjoy using "insert songs" to heighten emotion of scenes.

And thus, my conundrum!

I want to play a song for right before the final battle - their sacred tree is in flames, there are meteor raining from the sky, an impossibly big army on the horizon. Something tragic or maybe bittersweet, representing the end of their home - but a hope that it isn't necessarily the end of their people.

Some of my players like FF14, so I was thinking "Answers," but I already got my use out of that last campaign.

What are some good ideas?

Edit: Wow, jeez - I posted this and kind of forgot about it. So many good answers! I don't think I'll have time to respond to everyone's, but thank you so much for the suggestions.

Just finished watching Ancient Apocalypse on Netflix and had me thinking.

What if aliens or the UAP observed by some are descendants of an Advanced Ancient Civilization that used to inhabit our planet? They were driven off by a cataclysmic event which demolished and covered up the traces of their habitations. Maybe it would explain the high frequency of sightings in certain areas, over water especially where traces could now be easily submerged. Perhaps they return from time to time to retrieve something or observe if life still exists here and how stable/populated it would be for them to eventually return.

Dunno but cool to ponder.

Thoughts on the Netflix series Ancient Apocalypse?

I've been watching this new docu series and curious what others think? Never heard of Gunung Padang before this and find it really fascinating. Even climbed El Iztaccíhuatl once and never heard of the Cholula Pyramid nearby in Puebla while I lived in the area. Some bits seem a little outlandish, but I feel something like Lake Agissiz raising sea levels definitely fits the perspective of wiping out what civilizations on the coastlines might have thrived in that time period.

Ancient Apocalypse on Netflix

Just finished watching Ancient Apocalypse documentary on Netflix. Its presented by Graham Hancock.

I found it to be quite interesting and I think Graham is really on to something. It revolves around ancient megalithic structures and other things he finds all over the world....and how its all connected to each other. This leads him to believe it was all made by people with a common ancestor, the Atlanteans.

The structures worldwide do have a lot of things in common. One is that they are all focused on our nightsky (astronomy). And the other is that they feature stone blocks ...weighing tons and it remains a mystery how the people moved them into place. The Pyramids in Egypt are not the only ones featuring this. Another thing is the myth surrounding the places....they seem to have things in common as well. Its quite interesting.

What also stands out in this documentary is how the world (well, the other so-called experts like archeologists and scientists) treat Graham. Basically they are ridiculing him for years if not decades. They say he's a pseudo-scientists, etcetera.

He himself claims to be a research journalist....but after watching this documentary, I think its safe to say that he's the definition of a scientist. He's open minded about a lot of topics, is able to use a bird view to see connections ....and does actually thorough research on-site.

I found it funny that in the documentary, he openly talks about the fact that he's been ridiculed for years....but only to prove the "Experts" wrong by the amazing discoveries he's making. For example, in this first episode he visits an ancient site on a hill in Indonesia. The "Expert" archeologists say the structure found there is natural. Well, after Hancock visited and researched it....he found actually hidden rooms underneath the ground. Natural eh? Pseudo-scientist eh? LOL!

And I am glad he's going mainstream, also as a common guest at the Joe Rogan podcast show. He definitely deserves a lot more credit. And the so-called experts should be put to shame in my opinion for their arrogance and narrow-minded vision.

Go watch it if you are into Atlantis! Because in my opinion, Graham Hancock is on the edge of discovering Atlantis. And what happened to it.

The “Ancient Apocalypse” bearded men & giants are in the Bible

In the Netflix series “Ancient apocalypse” Hancock references how every ancient history has bearded men coming to them with knowledge. He also mentions how those old civilizations speak of giants. These are both in the Bible.

In Genesis it speaks about the Elohim (bearded men). These are sons of God or rulers from heaven who are given boundaries on earth to rule mankind.

“When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.” (Debut 32:8)

The book of Enoch also mentions them as Watchers.

“ And these are the names of their leaders: Samlazaz, their leader, Araklba, Rameel, Kokablel, Tamlel, Ramlel, Danel, Ezeqeel, Baraqijal, 8 Asael, Armaros, Batarel, Ananel, Zaqiel, Samsapeel, Satarel, Turel, Jomjael, Sariel. These are their chiefs of tens. [Chapter 7] 1 And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them, and they taught them charms 2 and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants. And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants”

In “Ancient Apocalypse” Hancock speaks about bearded men coming to civilizations to teach them. Hancock’s theory is the men have advanced knowledge from Atlantis. In the Bible and book of Enoch they are heavenly beings.

In the Bible and Enoch these Watchers or sons of God have sex with women and birth giants. They are called the Nephalim. A hybrid human race of giants. Hancock mentions how every myth speaks of giants, even non-Hebrew.

Another interesting parallel is Hancock mentions all the serpents in ancient civilizations. What he doesn’t say is the symbolism. Ancient civilizations understood these serpents were deceivers. They were gods who promised forbidden knowledge by enticing humanity. This is the story of the Garden of Eden where the tree of knowledge with forbidden fruit.

The giants and Watchers (bearded men) broke God’s rules. Giving forbidden knowledge, sex with humans. This resulted in God punishment at the Tower of Babel scattering humans throughout the earth w confusion. Then the flood Hancock mentions to destroy evil and give humanity a fresh start.

Present day application of forbidden knowledge. If you are addicted to porn or know someone who is. What is part of the enticement - the pleasurable allure of forbidden intimacy. Seeing sexual behavior forbidden from you is now in your mind and heart. Question? Is anyone better off looking at porn, anyone’s mental health, emotional or sex life? Or are porn addicts deceived? Promised fruit that looks good, tastes good, but leads to your death. If you don’t pay attention the flood will come for you and destroy your relationships and life

Ancient Apocalypse and Skinwalker Ranch

I saw quite a number of posts mentioning Ancient Aliens show, but couldn't find anything related to Graham Hancock's Ancient Apocalypse. So here I go.

In season 2 of The Secret Of Skinwalker Ranch, they talk about the massive amount of current under the ground and highly conductive soil.

It reminded me of the show called Ancient Apocalypse on Netflix.

The show is based on the most recent book Graham Hancock published and features the possibility of the great impact done on America around 12,000 years ago. It suggests a massive flood caused by an asteroid impact carved the geographical characteristics of modern America, especially the mesas. I find this theory compelling as there were multiple pieces of evidence supporting it.

Perhaps it is worth putting effort into trying to connect those two and see if it helps draw a bigger picture.
