Altamonte Springs

Why is Dunkin the only doughnut options available here? For the love of god, can we get some local doughnut shops? Im sick of driving to Winter Park and Sanford for doughnuts. Am I the only one noticing this?

I went by Golden Corral on my way home and noticed that it was closed. I'm surprised, they were always packed. I loved stopping in there on my lunch break for their soup and salad bar. Not much of a choice after Sweet Tomatoes closed. Still a decent salad bar. Anyone know why they closed? Now I have to find another place for a salad bar. Sonny's doesn't even do it anymore.

I heard that they are planning on opening a Trader Joes in Altamonte. Has anyone heard about this or is this just hopeful wishing? It would be nice to have one closer with a parking lot that doesn't make you want to pull out your hair.

Anyone know what's going on out there? I saw police lights flashing almost every other block.

Management just informed me I'm going to be charged 25% increase since I signed my lease last year. That's fucking bananas. I've started looking at alternatives but it seems they're trying to match the market rate instead of retaining current tenants.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any advice you can share?

We moved into our house in August & I have a few concerns about the area:

My husband and I are childless and don't plan to have kids for the next couple of years, but it seems like the schools are shit in Altamonte? Is this accurate?

Is Altamonte considered a 'good' & established area? I'm just afraid my home won't appreciate and the city/neighborhood could evolve into a crappy one.

I actually really like our house, just nervous that Altamonte Springs was a bad choice to purchase the home in. I think it being so close to Apopka freaks me out, I hate, hate Apopka.

So I live in Altamonte Springs and I'm trying to get a Job in I.T. However, it seems most of the opportunities are in Orlando as i don't see many tech industry related stuff around here. Should i then maybe look more in Orlando and then just deal with the commute via sun rail ect?

How's the I.T job market in Altamonte Springs?

I don’t know if this will really get anywhere but here it goes.

My family has a multi religion thoughts (each person has their own opinion on a different religion) so we don’t really go to a church.

My 7 year old has peaked her interest into Christianity. What I’m trying to find is a church that will teach her the basics that arent complicated to see if she would like to pursue her interest and not fear her into if she doesn’t believe in god she’ll go to hell. We would teach her more but we don’t know as much to really get her into it.

By places in mind that are kid friendly?
