Alina Zagitova describes living with Tutberidze during Pyeongchang Olympics

Alina recently appeared on a podcast with Maxim Trankov, where she discussed visiting her hometown, her career, and future plans. This is the same podcast where she confessed that she didn't like figure skating at all, and her mum brought her to train.

For those who don't know, Alina was separated by her family by Team Tutberidze in order for her to 'focus' on training. At the Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018, Alina shared a room with Eteri. She also said that at the Olympics, she didn't talk to anyone except her coaches - not with her teammates, or other athletes.

She said that when she left to go out to the Olympic Village, she had to pass through a security door, which would beep when it was opened. Because of this, Eteri would know she was going out, and would then ask "Where are you going? Are you going to eat burgers?". Alina said that she would always reply no, that she was going to the gym, and "I didn't even go to the place where all the food was, to avoid temptation."

The interviewer then asked if Alina thinks that she was put "there" (don't know this this means by the beeping door or with Eteri) in order to control her. Alina replies that she doesn't know, but is "grateful" to have been put there.

She also adds that she only started to place first in competitions when she joined the Tutberidze camp, and wanted to join Eteri's team because of Yulia Lipnitskaya's success at Sochi. Also, her mother would reward her for doing well in competitions with new pets.

For those of you that have seen her skate this season, I wonder if you have any input in what she’s going to do in the future? Her competitive days are obviously long gone, and she is attending university, but I can’t see her selling ice shows out with these disastrous messy slow performances 😐 her fans pay so much to see... this and I think it’s ridiculous. If you’re going to do ice shows, keep your fitness up and train like you’re planning to do ice shows. Otherwise, just focus on your life and future and leave that chapter of your past behind you without embarrassing yourself...

How difficult was Alina Zagitova’s blackloading?

I’m relatively new to the skating community and I saw someone say that her free program was virtually impossible due to the insane technical difficulty. Can someone help me understand why and how her program was so supernatural? Skaters do jumps all the time and practice hours a day, especially the Russians.

Can anyone else believe that 3A have now had senior careers the same length as Alina Zagitova?

That is so insane to me and just goes to show how unfortunately short Alina’s career truly was. But most of all I’m proud of 3A for continuing to achieve and showing they weren’t just one season wonders and “disposable coffee cups”.

Why does Eteri hate Alina Zagitova?

Has anyone ever noticed Eteri’s displeasure when Alina Zagitova outscores Evgenia Medvedeva?

It happened at the European Championships and then again last night when Alina broke the WR over Medvedeva.

Her reaction to Evgenia’s then WR: https://imgur.com/gallery/zJa2U

Her reaction when Alina passed Evgenia: https://imgur.com/gallery/norfG

I sense favoritism.

There is also a documentary on these two and Eteri again shows favoritism towards Evgenia.

I’m probably going to get downvoted to hell for this but let’s seriously look at the bigger picture. The way she treats Alina in the documentary alone is heartbreaking.
