Alina recently appeared on a podcast with Maxim Trankov, where she discussed visiting her hometown, her career, and future plans. This is the same podcast where she confessed that she didn't like figure skating at all, and her mum brought her to train.
For those who don't know, Alina was separated by her family by Team Tutberidze in order for her to 'focus' on training. At the Pyeongchang Olympics in 2018, Alina shared a room with Eteri. She also said that at the Olympics, she didn't talk to anyone except her coaches - not with her teammates, or other athletes.

She said that when she left to go out to the Olympic Village, she had to pass through a security door, which would beep when it was opened. Because of this, Eteri would know she was going out, and would then ask "Where are you going? Are you going to eat burgers?". Alina said that she would always reply no, that she was going to the gym, and "I didn't even go to the place where all the food was, to avoid temptation."
The interviewer then asked if Alina thinks that she was put "there" (don't know this this means by the beeping door or with Eteri) in order to control her. Alina replies that she doesn't know, but is "grateful" to have been put there.
She also adds that she only started to place first in competitions when she joined the Tutberidze camp, and wanted to join Eteri's team because of Yulia Lipnitskaya's success at Sochi. Also, her mother would reward her for doing well in competitions with new pets.
