Alabama House of Representatives District 10 Results Thread

Only one special election tonight, but it's a huge flip opportunity!

Alabama (polls close 7pm CT, 8pm ET)

  • House of Representatives District 10: This district is in southwest Huntsville, including the Redstone Arsenal (and Space Camp!) After the previous Republican incumbent stepped down due to voter fraud charges, Democrats knew this would be a flippable race. The district shifted almost 12 points left from 2016 to 2020, and voted for Trump by just 0.8 points. Democratic candidate Marilyn Lands has focused heavily on abortion rights in this district, while Republicans have injected ugly transphobia into the race by attacking a Space Camp employee. This is a race we're eager to win not only to build back in Alabama, but to send a strong message about Republican bigotry. RESULTS

The Alabama House of Representatives on Thursday refused to debate a bill to ban kids under 19 from riding in the back of pickup trucks. Guntersville Republican Rep. Kerry Rich brought the bill following a fatal 2013 accident that killed four young people.
