Let’s hear it! The album is finally out, what do you think?

During my commute today I listened to a channel on SiriusXM called Mosaic. Some of the bands and artists on in included, but not limited to, Lifehouse, Sixpence none the richer, OneRepublic, Four Non-Blondes, and Bruno Mars. I thought this was a fairly eclectic group of artists so I looked up what Mosaic's genre is. Apparently they are Adult Contemporary. Which lead me to the question what exactly is adult contemporary? Todd has discussed this several times but he hasn't given a hard definition. So in your opinion what makes something Adult Contemporary? Any favorite adult contemporary songs?

I'm having my first listen now (NZ time zones benefitting me big time), and this could well be up there as one of Chromeo's best works. I'm really glad they've gone back to the "mature" sound they had on Business Casual, done away with all the features that Head Over Heels had, and gone back to basics.

Standouts for me so far are 'Lonesome Nights' and 'BTS'. But I'm loving all of it. Well done Chromeo!

Simon had been famous for over two decades but had had limited commercial success in the early/mid 80’s. His 1983 record Hearts and Bones sold 43,000 copies, an insanely low figure for someone who with Garfunkle sold 70 million records.

So Graceland was a totally unexpected smash hit and sold 16 million copies. It is a phenomenal record and its first 7 songs are perfect though there’s a bit of a drop off after that IMO. Not bad songs, just not as good.

I listen to this record at least once a month. But, it casts a long shadow and his next record, Rhythm and Saints gets a little overlooked. To me, it’s from front to back even better than Graceland. It sold well, but nothing like Graceland though I feel it should be in the running for best records of the 80’s. It is also mixed so well and is a great record to test headphones or speakers on.

The variety in instrumentation and production style is so unique and shows how much care they put into every second of this album. Only one that was boring for me was words with you. Every other song I’ll be listening to for the next twenty years. Favs are lonesome nights, BTS, and two of us. I’m gonna do my best to use this album to turn my friends into Chromeo fans!! 🙏🏻 They need to know! Funk fa-eva🪩🎸

This is the year guys. 6 years waiting for the next proper Chromeo album (still love Quarantine Casanova). Who’s looking forward to it???

They say LoL is running at 20% adult contemporary and no more. Mother Nature and BGD are 2/10, so what will the rest of the album be like?????

Just finished it and genuinely every song was solid.

There've been songs on the past albums that I typically skip, but I can't see myself doing that here.

That runway beat in the second half of A Cut Above saved it.

I'm sitting at like a solid 9.5/10 right now.

I listen to all my music on YouTube music and today Adult Contemporary is gone from the platform. All other Chromeo albums are there. Does anyone know why?

I did hear there was major conflict between Google & the YouTube Music team. Has anyone noticed any other albums revoked/missing?
