Your manager disturbing you on Sunday is a normal thing ?

Am a full stack dev with 4 years of experience. I was working on feature which I finished based on the given requirements 3 months ago. I tested the use cases as much I can as a dev. We have a release in 2 days. The tester has not tested the feature since last 3 months now suddenly they started noticing bugs and they are scheduling meetings on Sundays without my consent. Is this a normal thing ? Coming to a Dev at the end and pressuring to make it work?.

Anyone get irritated on finding that the company uses myworkdayjobs.com to recruit?

Anyone get irritated on finding that the company uses myworkdayjobs.com to recruit?

In the age of "Easy Apply" and many other websites that make it simple to apply, there are some dumb companies that still use myworkdayjobs.com, which in my humble opinion, is a nightmare to use. No matter how many times you enter the same goddamn information, you have to re-enter the same info when you apply to some other company. I even tried searching for some contact email id to tell myworkdayjobs how horrible the UX is, but I couldn't find any.

So my conclusion is that it isn't worth applying to any company that uses myworkdayjobs, because it's very likely a company that doesn't give a damn about employees.

Before choosing to not be active in the job market, even if you have a good job, ask yourself the following questions

Before choosing to not be active in the job market, even if you have a good job, ask yourself the following questions

Is the company not looking for a cheaper alternative?

Companies look for cheaper alternatives all the time, always.

If you don't want to interview, that creates one less person in the job market who will not join them.

Companies should find hiring employees who are paid 1/1000 times the CEO as extremely hard.

Be in the job market always, all the time, don't change jobs just because you cleared interviews.

But be in the job market, attend initial rounds of interviews and express your unavailability at the end of the interview process.

Companies should be kept in line always.

There is nothing you loose by being active in the job market all the time, all throughout the year.

Companies are active in the job market despite laying off employee.

Why shouldn't you be active in the job market despite having a satisfying job?

Seems in India WLB and challenging work doesn't go hand in hand.

Seems in India WLB and challenging work doesn't go hand in hand.

I’ve worked in four different mid tier product-based companies, each with its own unique work culture. In places where work-life balance (WLB) was lacking, I found myself immersed in challenging projects and continuous learning because of the deadline. However, in companies that prioritize WLB, the workload tends to be lighter, sometimes even monotonous. Career growth often hinges on what you learn outside of regular hours.
