That is all. Fight the power. Honestly, if all the labour ran places were taking a stand like Manchester it'd really highlight the lack of leadership. And I don't think it'd risk having labour coming out negatively since the average Joe and even the media doesn't want some shitty lockdown.

Edit: thanks for the gol-... Silver? Bloody left wing Communists too cheap for gold /s

This would make Andy one of the most prominent elected Labour politician to do so.

The movement to bring down the unfair voting system known as First Past The Post is picking up steam in Labour.

Proportional Representation = The % of votes for a party match the number of MPs for a party in Parliament.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • 26 of the 27 EU countries use Proportional Representation for their national elections.

  • A majority of voters in England have never voted for the Conservative party since WWII.

  • Proportional Representation is used in London, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland devolved elections.

  • Labour MP John McDonnell, Nadia Whittome, Ben Bradshaw & Clive Lewis support Proportional Representation.

KEEP INFORMED!

Why are Sadiq Khan and Andy Burnham the only well known mayors in England?

I'm pretty well versed in politics, I've always followed it on a regular basis. I've noticed that we always hear about Sadiq and Andy but I never really heard about any other mayors. Obviously, Sadiq's popularity is understandable as London is the capital city, but what makes Manchester special? Yes it's a major city, but so is Birmingham, and other cities, but I can't even name the mayor of Birmingham, despite me being a Brummie, and I doubt many Brummies could tell you who our mayor is.

I'm sure there are probably a few popular mayor's I haven't heard of, but not on the same level as these two, who always seem to be in the headlines.
