Alex Hales
Alex Hales has just been on Sky’s Cricket Show and personally, I thought he spoke really well. He was open and honest about the fact he made a mistake, he got himself in a bad space and did some stupid shit.
Has he served his time now?
I’ve always been the first to say Alex Hales made his bed and he now has lie in it but it’s been nearly 2 years now, listening to him there I think, mentally, missing out on that World Cup would’ve been punishment enough. He’s changed his lifestyle, taken himself away from the temptations of the city and moved to the countryside and most importantly in a cricketing context, he’s smashing runs around the world in t20 cricket, he might not be in England’s first XI but for me, he’s still one of the top 15/18/however many is in a World Cup squad and should be in India for the World Cup.
I thought it was quite interesting that he said he’d messaged Morgan back during the first lockdown and essentially got pied off by Morgs(Hales obviously put it more professionally than that.)
It just seems a bit odd at this point that they’ve not even had conversations with him either way about whether he’ll ever get another chance or not.
