Podcasts struggling (and Alex Goldman)

This article in Slate has a quote from Alex in which he says that he's been trying to launch a podcast for a year with no luck. I'm sorry about what happened to gimlet. I think if he wanted to make his own show he surely could, though? I mean PJ and Sruthi have Search Engine. https://slate.com/business/2023/12/podcasts-layoffs-spotify-heavyweight-stolen-amazon.html

We are PJ Vogt and Alex Goldman, host of the Reply All Podcast. IAMA

Hi. My name is Alex Goldman, along with PJ Vogt, we host a podcast called Reply All, which is about the internet. We are part of Gimlet Media, a podcast network founded by former This American Life producer Alex Blumberg. We have done stories about things like:

We both came from public radio (before this we created a podcast called TLDR at WNYC, and before that we were producers at WNYC's On the Media). Ask us questions! We'll start answering @ 3PM.

Proof that we are who we say we are.

edit: Thanks for the questions, everyone! We're finishing up for the night, but we'll check back tonight and tomorrow morning and answer a couple more questions if you missed the window to ask them.

I'm Alex Goldman, producer for WNYC's On the Media (distributed via NPR). Ask me anything.

I'm Alex Goldman, producer for WNYC's On the Media (distributed via NPR). Ask me anything.

I'm a producer for the nationally distributed public radio show On the Media. I recently posted an interview we did with game designer Tim Schafer on /r/indiegaming, and some people there expressed interest in having me do an AMA, so here I am.

Proof that I am who I say I am.

We do stories about everything from gaming to books to tv. We do stories about the state of journalism, and the state of the journalism industry. We also do stories about what our host Brooke Gladstone calls "the enabling conditions of journalism" - 1st Amendment issues, 4th Amendment issues, government transparency, and so on.

Feel free to ask me questions about the media, what goes on behind the scenes at our show, or what it's like to be a public radio producer.

Edit 1: Thanks so much for all the great questions. I'll be checking this again later tonight and tomorrow morning. Feel free to keep the questions coming.
