Which is better to learn for fitness, well-being and self defence training?

Just recently I've stumbled across the meaning of mcdojo and that made me rethink about when I was around 10 y.o. and used to go to an Aikido dojo. I remember little honestly, but all I can remember was that sparring wasn't that much frequent, especially for low ranked kids, and that there were double-colored belts (I remember having a yellow-orange belt because during the exams I "was good, but not enough to fully get an orange belt". I've checked the official (I think) ranks for aikido and double-colored belts aren't a thing. Was that because we were kids or is it a sign of a possible mcdojo?

I’m 18 years old and my dad put me on aikido since forever ago, i think i did it for 10 years once a week. I quit last year because i found and realised how unrealistic my ‘training’ was. Bought a heavy bag 8 months ago and started boxing from YouTube tutorials (shoutout to Tony Jeffries and Hard2Hurt), have also been kickboxing for half a year twice a week now. Since then not a week went by without me hitting the heavy bag. I’m in love with boxing now and i’m gonna sign up to a gym after the summer. Only been doing this for a while but i feel like i can defend myself 1000% better than before. Would love to participate in a boxing match someday, aikido is a scam and fake

Aikido comes from the same martial lineage as judo and jujitsu. It emphasizes blending with attacks rather than countering force with force, and utilizes throws, joint locks, and pins in a cooperative drill setting.
