AIDEN ENGLISH

Honestly, I didn’t think much of Aiden English when I saw him with Simon Gotch but after Clash of Champions, damn is he smooth in the ring. Holy hell he is a damn good wrestler. His sell of Gables suplex, his finishing and signature moves looked badass. He has this mystique to him that I really like..

Also, similar to Gable and Luke Harper, they’re all underutilized. They need to form a stable called “Hey we can wrestle, too!” ... maybe not but you all get the idea

let’s never forget the wrestlemania where Aiden English got eliminated from the ARMBAR, then proceeded to shave his head before appearing again later on the exact same show to introduce Rusev

Notes from Matt Rehwoldt/Aiden English livestream

Matt Rehwoldt, FKA Aiden English, did an impromptu AMA livestream on Instagram where he answered some questions.

-Was asked his most painful bump in his career, he legitimately could not remember.
-Does not keep in touch with Simon Gotch anymore -Does not keep in touch with Miro/Rusev anymore, but sees he is doing well. -Loved working with Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziegler, William Regal in WWE. Said working with Undertaker and Randy Orton particularly proud moments -Said the New Day are some of his favourite people in the business. -Said he had an excellent professional relationship with John Cena, who was always open to communication and gave great advice and time out of his day despite and extremely busy schedule.
-Never thought he’d see the day Vince McMahon would retire, and believed he would “die in gorilla”. Called Vince McMahon cocky, arrogant, and an abuser; respects the business he created and appreciates the opportunity he had, but that’s it. Went on for state he supports the victims. -Prefers to be heel than face. -Only way he’d come back to WWE is as a broadcaster and a few other arrangements (such as keeping his Twitch). Gave high praise to Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, and especially Corey Graves.
-After this he said barring maybe a few exceptions, thinks he’s pretty much done with in ring action, and much prefers the broadcast/commentary side of things. Looking at more voiceover work as well. Stated giving promos was his absolute favourite thing to do.
-Loved working on 205 Live, but believed the talent deserved way better.
-Understands he’s probably always going to be known for Rusev Day publicly and is torn about this. On the one hand he appreciates being remembered for something like this, but the stated he was annoyed that fans aren’t seeing that he is capable of so much more than that. Also stated he gets random fans shouting “ruuuuuuusev Day!” on the street which really irritates him. -Believes with the sudden changes to WWE (Vince leaving, etc.), the creative side of things will change for the better but it will be very slow moving and gradual.
-Said Shawn Spears has the most painful chop he’s taken, comparing it to lightning.
-Gave shoutouts to Chelsea Green, Maclin, Deonna Purrazo, Willie Mack. The former Lars Sullivan joined in but go no shoutout LOL.

Tom Hannifan (Phillips) and Drama King (Aiden English) appreciation thread

Just thought it'd be nice to give a little attention to what has honestly become one of the more pleasant commentary teams in wrestling right now. Commentary on Impact has been very polarizing since Tenay and West left and they've really been needing some strong voices to carry the program.

Tom and Drama King both were really underrated at the table in their WWE/205 days and have hit the ground running as a team since Impact gave them the spot. Great voices, really knowledgeable, tons of chemistry and it seems like they have a lot of fun at the booth. I truly understand what people mean by how a good team can make or break a show because the past few episodes have been enhanced tenfold by them at the booth. Highly recommend people check out their work lately.

Anyone else feel sorry for Aiden English?

Simon Gotch apparently has heat now in WWE because of his backstage altercation with Sin Cara. If there's anything that I learnt from JTG's book, it's that heat in a tag team transfers to the other partner too.

I know The Vaudevillains were lower midcard anyway, but it seems like now after American Alpha beat them so easy they're going to be the next Ascension, and I'm pretty sure the Gotch fight has a lot to do with that. I can't help but feel bad for Aiden that something he couldn't prevent is most likely going to effect his career.
