Local food growers and farmers markets

Hey neighbors! I've been trying to learn how to grow vegetables and I honestly would love to talk with some locals that do the same and make connections that'll help me learn more about growing food in our area specifically. What farmer's markets are around here? Any favorite local vendors?

I love 2nd street market, but that's about as far as my knowledge goes on where to find people!

Florida passed a Draconian anti-immigrant law. Now, GOP legislators are mad that the state agriculture industry, which is heavily dependent on immigrants, can’t find enough workers.

PSA: Community Supported Agriculture programs are opening for the season!

These programs aren't for everyone, but if you want to get fresh produce that tastes better and lasts longer without setting foot in a corporate grocery store - look into a community farm program! Most are set up for weekly pick ups from farmers markets and locations around the city.

It doesn't work for everyone but if it does it's a great way to get your food for the summer and support local food growers!

My friend and I created a free-to-use Local Food Marketplace website called FoodWeb. Our goal is to connect food growers to consumers and to enact sustainable food exchange in communities. We hope that /r/farming puts some pins on the map! List, buy, and sell garden products with FoodWeb.

We just released our website called FoodWeb this week. We hope that farmers like you will take advantage of this website in order to reach a wider market of consumers locally, regionally, and nationally. In order to post your fare, all you would have to do is sign in, click sell your food, enter the product you wish to sell and you're set.

The website is www.foodweb.io

Eventually, we are going to develop a rating system so that people can review food quality. Right now it is essentially food sourcing software.

Feel free to use it and give some feedback. Thank you r/farming!

We always need service workers besides the collared workers. Without the production capacity of workers and their contribution to the purchasing power, the economy is rendered redundant with the main power being in the hands of food growers/farmers

The Irish animal agriculture industry

A lot of Irish people are under the impression that the animal ag industry in Ireland is "special" and that the cows are happily living their best lives (until being brutally slaughtered of course). People claim that the american industry is much worse and that factory farming there might be a good reason to be vegan, but not here in Ireland where they "eat happy animals". I realise there are a lot of reasons why even if this were true (which it isn't), there are still countless forms of exploitation and harm that occurs. That being said, I am looking for articles, footage and information that I can use against these people to show that the animal ag industry here is just as bad as anywhere else.

The Planet crafter is a death sentence.
false

The Planet crafter programm by sentinel Corp is an opportunity for criminals to gain a second chance. To prove their valuable members of society, at least that's what the marketing will say. I say you just got a diferent kind of death sentence.

Think about how much money was put into sending you there and your efforts on the planet? Close to zero. You land in a small drop pod with a laughably small oxygen tank and backpack. You don't even get a building tool, you have to craft it. We know it wouldn't be that expensive at all geting you some better equipment, since an untrained individual can fully automate the process of making this better equipment.

The food you start with is so small, you are suposed to die. You don't start with a food grower, and I would argue it's nearly imposible to get to this stage without the food found in shipwrecks.

Sentinel Corp dosent want you to succeed, but to die or go crazy. In theory you recieve everything needed to terraform the planet, but think about what they don't provide you with. Seeds can be argued they knew those could be found. But what about some non raw food or a bed? The trading rocket and blueprint chips are not provided, the first is a friend of you hacking their system, the later is you most likely abusing the systems. If you don't starve to death, you will go insane or become depressed and suicidal. Sleeping on a metal floor, only eating old rations and raw veggies is bound to have you go insane.

Sentinel Corp in fact cares so litle about you, they Don't even monitor you properly. Sure there's some automated systems for you to unlock new blueprints, but if anyone ever manually checked up on you, they would sound all the alarms as soon as the first trading rocket is launched.

It's all automated, yet you don't recieve what is needed to terraform the planet.

Further prove is the secret room with all the mesage screens, the exact same you found in your drop pod.

I highly doubt you will ever leave this planet, even if the game gets a proper ending one day. Sentinel Corp will either just leave you there to rot, or the rocket you get for leaving (the blueprint, you will need to build it yourself) is riged to crash or explode. Either because they don't care about you, or get scared it comes out how many people they sent to their certain doom.
